Title: stiff/difficult gear change
Post by: lee4206 on 26 January 2012, 22:43:38
Hi guys I'm after some advise/info on possible clutch or cylinder failure.
Symptoms are occasional stiffness of gear lever, difficulty getting in gear and crunching of gears.
This seems to happen when under acceleration and at higher load.  The clutch pedal seems to sit at the right height, biting point feels right and it doesn't feel spongy.
The car has done 104,000 miles and no history of the clutch being changed.  I'm fairly sure I've noticed the clutch slipping a couple of times but not 100%.

Would you say this is the clutch/pressure plate, slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder or dmf .
Any info/advise is welcome.
Thanks.

Hi Lee.

Well, four years ago i had the same problem that you explains: stiffness of gear lever and the difficulty of getting in gear (only in rear gear and the first gear).
In my case, Opel changed the cluch system (i canŽt remember the exactly pieces, sorry), and the cost of the bill was 1500 euros. >:(

If i find the bill, IŽll post here.

Regards.
