Well having my omega trashed last year by a d/d eventually got the insurance money so decided to get another car,
Finances not good and health no good i opted to go onto the motability scheme again. so spent the day today going around dealers test driving cars eventually swmbo and myself decided on the vauxhall astra sri as its a no deposit,Just couldnt believe it placed the order was told it would be a factory build as vauxhall no longer stock new cars and then told me delivery 06 june.
No wonder the car industry is in such a state 4 months for a vauxhall i excepted this for a merc or bmw.
:( :( :( :(

Seems excessive to me. Factory build times generally 8 to 12 weeks from experience but they may be saying june to 'under promise and over deliver'
-
Hope so, just seems stupid 4 months i mean the only extras from a standard car a parking sensors.
??? ???

Bloody hell, an Astra sri on motability? What happened to the fibre glass 3 wheelers? Think I might put me leg in a vice and ask for a Signum

Everything is avaliable within reason. Sold a peugeot 307 cc 180bhp to a young lad with a spine problem. cracking chap. It was £3000 advance payment mind.

There is no cap on advanced payment, and a silly move to go for a big posh car as you will pay more than if you bought it, check this out and do the sums...............

my mate got a 320m sport on mobility very nice
-
i should add he did get injured in the falklands war
-
The costs are all the same you loose your dla £200 a month its the deposits that change but imo can't see the point paying a deposit when the car is never yours.
As from the end of 2011 any car above a 2k deposit needs to be authorised by motability ie specially adapted vehicles you can no longer have big expensive cars.

5 months for an Astra??? WTF!
No real surprise.
Its a good and sensible move from the manufacturers as it means an end to fields full of cars and large inventory costs.

Agreed. Most manufacturers make/supply on a 'just in time' basis, and have tried to do for years. ;)
