Title: 1997 CDC?
Post by: bootie on 27 January 2012, 18:37:05
When I got the car the radio had no sound but the CD changer worked through the head unit, now even that has stopped!

As far as I can tell it's a CDC but there are no numbers to say which model, The car is a 1997 2.5TD elite estate.

So, is this terminal, do I need a new head unit, if so which would anyone recommend so that I can keep the display, obviously I don't need the cassette player part but with the CD changer in the boot, neither do I need that in the head unit. Unless I have no choice.

If an easy fix, is there a 'how to' or will this need to be sent in somewhere?

Thanking you in advance.

Jon

Um, unsure. It's not shown in the accompanying booklet so what numbers should I be looking for... I know it's a Philips somethng or other, I'll pop out and have a look. (Gotta nip out for a fag anyway!)

Yeah, seen a couple on just now, but having read through previous posts on the same subject it appears it could be the amp unit shutting itself down due to faulty speaker(s) so will have a look at that first. It would be nice to prove it was the head unit being knackered before getting another one if you know what I mean.

I'll let you know after the weekend.
