So there I was on the way back home from London and got the munchies, so decided to get myself a Kabab, full monty type with lots of chillie and garlic sauce in north Chingford (the Posh part), so Im parked up, just got in the Car outside the shops, put the open Kebab box on the dash with the window open (didn;t want the smell to linger) and looked down to change the FM station.
Next minute looked back up and there's a fox half in the car through the window with its teeth on the Kebab, shocked, I scream like a baby, which stunned the fox and shacked it about before running off with an empty yellow box, I can still see His eyes now, needless to say most of the Kebab ended up all over the place, mostly on Me, and my heart rates going ten to the dozen.
Is nothing frecking safe in the towns anymore, thieving bastards theve got no fears anymore.
A now calmed down and hungry Chris,

You still ate it then? :D
-
Least it wasn't after your mobile mate ;)
-
For the crime statistics, native or ethnic fox. ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Cheeky batsrad! :o
Well, it was the townies who decided to ban hunting... ;)
-
used to seeing seagulls etc pounce for food....but thats a new one on me!
-
The fox was probably used to humans due to idiots feeding it.
rather townies >:(
-
Yep, we don't see many foxes now due to being in the country ::)
Townies wanted to ban fox hunting and let the vermin (and let's be clear, the fox is vermin) thrive so they have moved into towns for easy pickings ::)

Our next door neighbours(in the Midlands) for a long time put out a roast chicken dinner EVERY night for the foxes. They liked the chicken. Couldn't see the point of the veggies. Do foxes also need five a day? ;D

Foxes are only seen as vermin because the greedy, space and resource hungry human race constantly take more and more and encroach on the foxes, and other animals habitat. The foxes still need to live, then there's the conflict. They're still living creatures with a right to life no less than our own. I would class some humans as vermin over animals.

Aye, there's a ghetto estate full of 'em near here >:(
We refer to them as 'chavs' ............ they've labelled us decent grafting sorts as 'mugs' >:(
One or two foxes apparent locally, though no obvious problems apparent. :y

On that point we agree :y :y
As for the rest... We'll have to agree to disagree ;) Foxes spread as much disease as rats

Try telling that to someone who keeps chickens, or sheep, for that matter. Both also animals with a right to live, of course.
The problem is that foxes kill whenever the opportunity presents itself, not just when they are hungry, and, now that the bleeding hearts have had their way, they have no predators.
Give them the right to roam free unimpeded, but don't complain about the carnage they leave behind. ;)
-
if i had get a rifle i would gladly shoot the bloody things...they are vermin just like mice and rats imo !!! :y
-
you can still shoot them i do but you cant hunt them whith dogs its not illeagle to nhunt them just dont use dogs
-
there is a guy in the south east sussex i think who does track them down and does shoot them
-
the fox must have had a discerning taste :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

so decided to get myself a Kabab, full monty type with lots of chillie and garlic sauce
Glad your ok mate , nasty critters them :y Suprised it took it with chillie on it :-\
-
I would say the fox does have a predator and it appears to be the motor car if the number laying in the roads is anything to go by
-
::) ;D
probably the fox have babies :'( (says the towny ;D )
-
We have one in the grounds at work.It has a choice of thousands of rabbits, hares, pheasant, and even badgers if its so inclined.Bloody thing eats better than I do. ;D
We have guys who come and shoot rabbits to try to control the numbers.Sometimes they leave the rabbits in a pile and the fox ambles out in full view and takes them away to his larder at a liesurely pace. They dont shoot the fox as it actually helps in controlling the number of rabbits.

:( I feed them ;D
-
It would bankrupt the company to try to feed them.Theres thousands of them. While they spend two hours there shooting 20 rabbits, theres probably 25 being born at the same time. ;D

Not sure thats entirely true... ...they still get the hounds doing the kill out the back of my house, just its recorded as "accidental"
I have no real views on fox hunting. But a do have a right downer of the useless, lazy, fat, gormless, idiothead, self centred, inconsiderate, thick, pointless, inbred, retarded, stupid, breakless, gay, knobjockey, backward toffs who abandon their cars on blind bends to watch the spectacle of a load of untaxed horses with a idiot halfway down its back play spiffing toff.
Don't get too many on my part of the estate, but other parts of town are overrun with the disease ridden flea bags...

The farmers around my Mum's way infect the poor critters. Its a nasty way to die.

That's a long and entertaining way to say badly abandoned parked vehicles. ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
I see the word censor had a field day on my rant about lazy fat toffs...

Yo should have grabbed it and taken it into the kebab shop. Make next weeks offerings taste different. "Now with added Fox flavour !, taste the bite"

Vermin breeds.
having had 2 pet rabbits killed, one just left so not for food, I would rather they inhabit someones else's back garden. Like those of the idiots that stopped hunting.
How can some clown living in a town know the hell farmers go through, to come out and find your entire flock of hens dead, only one taken for food, they are nasty vicious killers.

every animal have the instinct to kill.. but they kill to eat and survive.. unlike humans..
and besides it doesnt know to count :-\

If you just left them, the population would stabilise at a level the surrounds can support. Its a Darwin thing, if there's only food for 100 rabbits that's all you will get, the rest will die off or get eaten. Nature stabilises things. That's why sea turtles lay so many eggs, so many young die in the process of growing up, they need that many for the race to survive. This discussion could be extended to humanity, but I ain't going there.

Its when the killing lust takes over and as I said they wipe out flocks of hens for no reason except killing lust. Are they safe to be in back gardens with kids in prams ?. Hmm fresh food, fairly helpless, smells nice I wonder......
Ken
-
The flaw in your theory Ken,is that they can wander off into the surrounding thousands of acres of farmland if they get a bit short off food.. ;)

as I said , they dont know to count.. but they take as many as they can.. lust belongs to human imagination..
they kill because they are programmed in that way..

That's quite a coincidence as apparently that happens up here as well...... :-X :-X :-X

Thing is how far away is the farm land ?. If a mile, that's a long way for a rabbit to cover, it has to make up twice that in energy consumed, and it has to know there will be food before making the journey. Animals are creature of habit, they like to go down to the local field (corner shop) to get something to eat. Unless they know there is better feeding far away ( special offers in the Sun :P ), they will stay put unless hunger or serious preditors happen.

They have their "houses" on the 7 acres of land where I work. The farmland is the other side of the surrounding hedges and shrubs. :y

you cant believe from how long distance they take the smell , and how long distances they can go on a night..
especially if there is wind..
-
OK, so my geography is a bit off :P . Start catching them and take em to market :y :y Rabbit kebabs.
Ken
-
I was offered a couple to take home for the pot last week, but I declined. ;D
-
They are supposed to be quite tender, all that running. When curried you would never know the difference :y :o
ken
-
I may give it a try one of these days, just to see for myself. :y
-
Rabbit is tasty, as long as it isn't hung too long... A bit like chicken :y
Not unheard of for me to pop a couple off for dinner the next day if we fancy it ::)
-
I have not had Rabbit Pie since I was a kid and my Mum used to make it, swmbo is horrified by the idea, not sure I would get it passed Miss Vamps either ::) ::) My life is ruled by women, at home and at work...... :D :D :D
-
Ah but on a skewer or in a burger or a curry could they tell the difference ?. ( can they tell the difference :o )
To quote Sean Connery from the film Highlander " I only eat what I can identify"

Grew up on rabbit (as it was free ::)), but if you haven't had it before, you may be slightly intorerant to it, as is the case with many meats.
A little like poultry, just a bit richer, maybe slight gamey aftertaste. In my case, often tasted of lead as well ;D
-
Mrs. KW doesn't try to feed me rabbit any more. I think she got a bit offended when I called it "road kill stew". :-X

A squirrel jumped down and nicked my sandwich in covent garden one day. cost me 3.50 as well
-
can you buy squirrels daan south? ;D
we had a clear up on the last day of shooting, we shot the drays out, and got 16 in the day,
foxes when hand fed become unafraid of humans, its only a short step to taking kids out of prams, didnt it happen last year?
any fox is shot on site, as the local hunt just move them around, they didnt catch many even before the ban.
-
You heartless people.. I'll report you all to PETA!
