lol you can all see where im going...
i fancy buying a 3.2 lump to turbo-since it has a forged crank
where could i get forged rods for it from? may as well look at decomp pistons too lol
i had the idea of chopping the dp where the precats are and fitting a small turbo at each side instead :P
anybody fancy humouring me and pointing me towards some conrods?
thanks

I looked into something like this, I stopped when I was told by just about everyone that cooling would be a big problem...?

cooling issues can be solved , but bottom end will start problem after.. :-\

Bottom end is the concern. They wear from stock. So don't take much more extra poke reliably.

Bottom link sounds very nice :y
And here's a conversion to a 3.0 V6 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eY_22IuDnw8&feature=related

Ive thought about this, but I dont think its worth the effort of around 5psi on the eqivilent of 2 T25's.
Vs the weight of intercoolers, rads etc. Also look at Saabs blown version of the 3.0. I think that had sodium valves.. Id also avoid the Vid 1 type turbo in the bay and stick them/it by the gearbox (latest trend in US etc) and to use the standard inlet trunking with the supercharger is beyond daft :D
Id either use a Z28NET or C20LET tbh, or ITBs depending on what power you wanted :)

if a different engine will be used those 2jz and rb25 are better imo

Agreed, I love the RB, but its not the best candidate, 1JZ is outstanding for the money... But again, lots of weight in front of the front axle with the straight 6 iron block and intercoolers etc.
Anyway, the op question was about low pressure...you may see 50bhp or so safely, which you would on itbs imo.

i looked at running a z28net lump, how come the z28net engines cranks cope where as the ye32 doesnt?
..i couldnt be arsed with the engine management on a z28net as its a later motronic and dont know if the looms would integrate between m3.0 and m4.4 or whatever the z28net uses
...if anybody knows then let me know :P

I dont think its the crank that is the weak point to be honest and the Z28 is a completley different engine with had turboing in mind from the offset, its also a 60 degree Vee as opposed to a 90 (iirc, Ive asked a similar question before)
As for management, I wouldnt bother trying to use the standard stuff and fit a standalone like an SC Typhoon or Link etc. iirc you can get a different board for the earlier motronic, or can play with the chip or reflash the later ones, but youd be too limited to run boost safley imo :)

i thought the omega was a 54 degree Vee?

Not sure if this will work. Try guess what she is.

you're right - Z28 is a totally different engine - a conwentional 60 degree, as opposed to the Omega B's 54 degree V6.
This is partly the reason why conrods are difficult to get, because the 54 degree crankshaft has six different big-end journals, unlike a conwentional vee engine.
Swindon Race Engines used to do a racing version of the 3 litre engine, which will surely have had different rods.
budget about £400 per rod.
for what it's worth, I think the cooling problems are fixable - it's really about reducing the normal running temperature

worth reading.. there's good info from Geffd

Hmm. Acme rubber crankshaft indeed. ;D No points for guessing whose suggestion that was. :D
