Yes, I do agree with both of those comments. :y

Thank goodness for that :y :y :y
Of course, I'm sure there was no inmpact on the decision by the viral You Tube video and world wide support for "Big Man's" actions :-\ ::)

Wonder of the conductor will handle a similar situation differently next time?

Yes, that's a fair comment. :y

Is good to see that there is some 'common sense' left in the pot, must be left over from where the ex-PM the fool Brown never used any. ::) ::) ::)

What a relief it must be for my Scottish colleague to return to work:

Whilst we all receive confrontation training, nothing - but nothing, will prepare you for what a turn of duty will throw at you. From disrespectful and potentially violent fare-dodgers to the extremely grateful female parent who kissed me in front of a packed commuter train for safely returning her disabled daughter - we have to be 'all things to all people' all of the time that we're on duty.
I've had a good few instances during my career-span where 'good guys' like 'Big Man' have similarly intervened, though the outcome could have been oh so different. Good to see common sense prevailing at last.
