Title: PFL Estate Rear N/S Electric Window.
Post by: P6UL K on 14 February 2012, 17:46:44
Has decided it wants to just fall open of its own accord!  I'm seeing if anyone can help with probable causes?

Electric window button does nothing on either the door or the consul by the gearlever.

Any thoughts befoe i strip it down and stress myself out....  :D

the wires from the piller to the door, wires may have split, should remove easy to check wires behind the rubber flex seal.

Ok thats one issue, but why is the window just falling open downwards?  Could it have come off its runners?

so its not the motor making it fall down? if the wires are cut, should not fall down unless the window has been lifted off the runner, even with a broken adjustor the window would stay in place, can get a short in wires to make motor drop window. the only other thing would be the cog on the motor coming of its shaft, but its bonded to the shaft. but would think the window was dow when the wire was cut  and some one has lifted the window and dislodged it.

well thats a new one for the book. is that setup in a manual some were? surprised it was not glued in. or some other thing holding it in place. so new motor then needed.
