Title: Alloy wheel repairs
Post by: VXL V6 on 25 March 2008, 15:52:23
I've got a spare set of wheels for my car that need very slight cosmetic work on them. They really don't need fully refurbishing (I can get this done for £40 a wheel - stripped and powdercoated), just a couple of light scratches touching in.

Does anyone know who could do this? I've been thinking of using these people:- http://www.chipsaway.co.uk/smartrepairs/index.php?section=236&page=1855

If there prices are fixed  youll be lucky to get a wheel touched up (even a small repair) for less than £40.   We've used them a couple of times at work and we've always been charged over £40 per wheel for touch ups of small scatches.

I was speaking to a guy in the liverpool area who works at a Vx stealers.

He buys the damaged wheels off ex-demo cars and has them refurbished. It cost him £125 for a set of 4. If he goes in with a batch, regardless of how many up to 16 wheels then the job-lot costs £250.

The place in question will respray, polish or whatever is needed.

Sounds like a good deal.
