Post by: Bacon Butty Man on 25 March 2008, 21:17:05
you may or may not be aware of the cargo ship that has run aground 100 metres from the prom in Cleveleys not Blackpool as the media reports, any way i have some photo's you ma be interseted in.
Now they say it will have to be chopped up, as you can see its really sunk in, every one in the area Knew it would end up being stuck, but how much have they wasted on trying to refloat it :-/

Oops!

Just need a bit more "climate change" to raise the sea level a foot or two and it'll be all right.

It still will if they try to tow it off and the b*gger sinks five miles off shore :y.
Instead off fannying about they should have sculldragged it off on the first spring tide after it grounded and took the chance. I sailed passed it on that day, (very surreal) and the tide and weather were perfect to take it out to sea and tow it to safety

I was in the cinema on the prom, we all left the film we were watching to av a look, you could see it from the foyer, it looked like it was going to smash against the sea wall, very scary, like you said, surreal :o
