this listing alone will make him £10,000 if all sells, but it's not actually a scam

Seen these before. No, it tells you what you will get so is not a scam but not in the 'spirit' of ebay, dont suppose he cares though.

Feed back looks good though, loads of 50p items, not sure how 3 positives for this deal though, friends I guess. :)
-
Not sure what to think. Everything's £49.99! I've heard there's ex police bargains to be had but never really looked into it.
Can anyone elaborate please? :-/

hotel21 is best to comment on police auctions!
Do they excist for that type of stuff brucie?

It has just been ended

No, it was ending anyway. Was counting down when I looked.

all his feedback are from today, and about 95% are from the same person
all the positives for the actual £50 ones have kept their own comments private
all cos ebay decided to let multiple feedbacks from the same person all count as individuals!!
-
I can find out where they are, only charge £49.95.
;D ;D ;D
-
I kept it on watch, gonna see what feedback comments appear in the next few days
look lower down, he has 2 negs from people he obviously isnt connected with who bought £49.95 ebooks!
my mate Kayleigh was almost tempted to bid but clearly hadnt read the advert, and asked me to give my opinion and obviously the "125 available" was the first obvious sign of "too good to be true!"
-
Just goes to show read everything twice before you make a bid. reminds me of the "empty box" sale you think you are bidding for the item when in actual fact your bidding on the empty box it came in >:(
-
he cleverly uses a font colour close to the background colour of the adverts, making it easier for someone to not bother reading it all
i just had another look at his completed listings, he created the "garden" listing first with about 180 items on it at 50p each, one person then bought them all to get him the high feedback to start off with, he's then listed 8 seperate £49.95 listings with 100's available in each one, and sold nearly 400 in total, approaching £18,000 if each sale completes, and thats not including the £7 postage he's charging to e-mail the info!!
-
Just looked at this closer, surly that fed back is fraudulant, and therefore illegal, uses the same buyers which I would think is him.
Goes to show you really really must read everything and study, not just look at feedback.
-
Look at all the "newbies" who bought it; the ones with zero feedback and who registered in the last couple of months. All these people buying it, added credence to it, and several people with some feedback bought it. A well planned scam, spent the last few months creating ebay ID's and used them to bolster confidence. I think he has several more similar auctions going.
Ebay is getting bad; I was looking for a hard drive for a laptop, and saw this 200G one for a very reasonable price. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330220824294&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=014 He said he had only just bought it , but ended up buying another laptop instead so didn't need it. Sounds fine, except I looked thro his recent auctions and found he had recently bought a 200G hard drive, that was faulty, clonking off the end stop, for £16 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190204902050 . So some poor sucker paid £39 plus postage for a drive that is basically stuffed.
The whole country is getting bad at this. I currently work repairing laptops, and we had a HP DV9000 in with broken LHS hinge (a known fault) which damaged the rear lid and front bezzel. We contacted one of our suppliers. Lee from Laptop and PDA spares, who said "Oh yes there is a problem with these, hinges are very rare, but I can get you a 2nd hand LHS one for £50". Except we went to the HP main agents and bought a pair for £12. So many people seem to be trying to screw people over prices, another ebayer, Barycrocker (?) is charging £185 for a working Acer 3003 laptop mother board, Hell, these are celeron M's so not a lot of good, and the price of a complete working one is about £200. Remember you can get a new laptop, not particularly good but new and guaranteed for £250 -£300.
Time to leave me thinks, when's the next boat to Australia ? ;D ;D

probably safe to say a lot of buyers have fell for it and he'll get a small wedge for it, but whether he'll be proven to have "fooled" people is a different story, cos his listings do state its not the actual item
he'll probably get a handful of negs, then booted off ebay but with a tidy sum of money
-
I reported it to Fleabay, but whether they do anything is .........

will probably re reg with a different name and do it again
most local auctions have either a police or local authority auction monthly or quarterly just check them out and save 49 squids
-
he's had 3 fresh negatives since last night and his feedback is now private :D
