I went out and purchased a cruise stalk, wired up and and activated it but it wont work.
Checked that i have a clutch switch and it seems i don't :'(
I have a 2000 'X' 2.2 (Z22XE) GLS Estate
Can any one advise if i need a switch and if the plug i have found is correct.
Also i only have 1 brake switch. Is this correct?
I have taken some pictures of what i found:
Spare plug i found taped up:

Is this where the clutch switch should go?:

Any help/Advice appreciated! :y

Ok, Having had a quick flick through the how to it looks like i need the clutch switch :y
That's going off the guide for pre-facelift but the plugs for the clutch looks like the same one.
Any one confirm that the clutch switch should go where that black gromit is in the pic above?

auto or manual? :)
manual does need a clutch switch. fubar otherwise, without major reconfig. :y

So i'm guessing if i shove a clutch switch in and make sure the break switch is a 4 pin it will all come together? :D

If the brake switch is two pin you may find it will do for the clutch meaning you only have to buy a four pin four the brake pedal. :y

a manual with cruise needs a clutch switch for two reasons - it will not work with out because the cruise module/software expects a closed circuit between the two terminals on the clutch switch plug ( the auto box bridges these out) and without it ( if you bodge it) you'll find one day that you press the clutch with the cruise engaged and it will just over rev.
so here's what I'd do.
check whether I had 2 or 4 pin brake switch: if two pin then order both the brake and clutch switch. If it is a 4 pin brake switch then you just need the clutch
when these are in place, you need the cruise software enabled - that requires tech 2

Managed to get a clutch switch so will be fitting that tomorrow hopefully.
To enable cruise, does it need to be turned on in the engine and chassi sections?

only needs activating on tech2 if it a fly by wire throttle cable, if standard throttle cable it plug and play
