Title: Mothers day.
Post by: Amigo on 25 February 2012, 22:51:05
Saw a Moonpig card advert on the telly today. Great idea & good on them, we all have to make a living.

Thing is, this will be my first Mothers day without my Mum.

think hercules says it all Amigo although its hard to advise or give direction to someones personal loss only support

My family is not as close as they all make out etc etc and it sounds like you were very close and thats something to cherish and celerbrate which i am sure you do

wifey lost her dad 2 years ago and her daughter before i met her and a very close family they are she still grieves but we turn sadness into joy and laughter by talking about the things they did good and bad and thats how the person you have lost would like to see you whatever your beliefs

the only cosulation is you never loose the person as Hercules said they are always in your heart and minds and thats a good place to be  :y

Keep strong Guy, try and remember the good times on Mothers day. :-*

I won't say it gets better with time, it doesn't it just changes. :(

I've always hated Mother's day and it's not got better since I've been a mum.  Lost my mum as a baby and then my Grandma and Mother-in-law a couple of years ago now and it just opens up old wounds, more so than birthdays, anniversaries etc.  :(
To me it just emphasises the fact that I'm the only mum in our family now.

I can't send her a card this year so i'll post one of her favourite songs in her memory from the musical Hair which she loved. When i'm a bit tearful & missing her i remember her dancing around to this when i was 6 or 7 ish & it helps cheer me up a bit!
