Title: Ouch!
Post by: Lazydocker on 26 February 2012, 20:48:32
Managed to knacker my back again :'( ::)

Had to unblock a drain at home which involved opening the manhole cover. Normally OK but this one was 2"+ of concrete and although I thought I was being careful and sensible it appears not :'( :'(

Hope it improves overnight

Didn't help that after I felt it go I still had to rummage around down the drain, get it cleared and flowing and then get the cover slid back into place ::)

Walking like I've crapped myself again now ::)

Not sure what it's like round your way, but we found out recently if a drain blocks, ring Thames water, and they just come and sort it. No charge.

Depends on your particular water authority I guess, but worth a call...?

Private land, the whole estate ;) Although Anglian Water have just adopted the sewers :-\

Mind you... Sunday morning and completely blocked with SWMBO hair and grease/fat from kitchen/dishwasher etc ::)

Just had to get on with it ;)

Mind you... We've lived here 7 years (to the day) and that's the first time they've blocked completely, although it has been warning me for about 15 months ::)
