Title: Nice kit car
Post by: mantahatch on 27 February 2012, 12:57:48
I like this, not sure of the HP quoted though but I am no expert on such things. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/vauxhall-vw-kit-car-project-90-complete-360bhp-/260964566332?_trksid=p4340.m1374&_trkparms=algo%3DPI.WATCH%26its%3DC%252BS%26itu%3DUCC%26otn%3D5%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D6624229309799786693

Think it would certainly stand out when finished.

Hmm. :-\ Trying to think of what came out of that Calibra to be making 360 BHP. ;D

I'd say it came out of the back of a male of the bovine species, personally. ;D

Assuming that's a one-off and not built from a recognised kit I think it would be a brave man who goes for it. There is the potential for some expensive snags when it comes to getting it through IVA these days unless it has been competently designed to pass the test.

You're not wrong there! Part built kits of a recognised company are enough of a minefield (enough that I avoided buying a part finished Dax with a 428 FE - basically what I'm building - that came up at a good price) let alone one built by Fred in his chicken shed.

I bet it'll turn up again on eBay in a year or so ...

That power figure was seen from quite a few of the 2.0 turbo calibras  :y

Can't put my finger on why, but this appeals to me somewhat :-\ ::)

Don't think it was built in a chicken shed mate - have a good look at the guys pics on facebook!

Personally quite impressed with the body shape/design as well as the chassis build from the pics.
Also heard of quoted 360 bhp from 2.0 turbo calibra engine!
