General Car Chat / Re: Wish I was closer
« on: 17 April 2017, 08:26:56 »Just to conclude - or inform - I clicked on the Buy It Now for this Omega, I am only 20 miles away and took a chance on it being a genuine car and a genuine seller - it wasn't.
When I got a contact number for the seller I googled it and discovered he is a mechanic (who specializes in diagnostics) and also a trader with a website and facebook selling page etc, when I spoke to him he was very vague on simple details like how long he has owned it, if he has the V5 and even what his address is - he even asked me to pay by bank transfer! So I arranged to collect yesterday (and pay cash on collection) I knew by then that there was something not right with either the car or the seller and quite probably both. I found the car parked in the street, it was untidy and had been abused hence the rubbish pics on the ebay ad. knocked on the door of the address given, they had never heard of the seller. So at that point I decided that there were too many negatives and bailed out of the deal.
I daresay it wil be relisted at some point but "buyer beware".
