General Car Chat / Re: Jump In The Dyson!

He should take note of what happened to Sir Clive Sinclair. Several useful innovative products, followed by a duffer that sullied his name and brand - the Sinclair C5. Now Dyson is emulating this - it'll be a disaster.
Still better than a Shitroen C5 though :D

Nope, few things are better than the Citroën C5

Those 1.4 TSI:s have a lot of timingchain problems.
Also it's made in Mexico.
I'd avoid..
Maby an Opel Astra or Peugeot 308 SW?

If you're changing discs they'll be expensive. They have the wheel bearring in them 👍

That is just about the most french thing I've ever heard  ::)

Makes'em a doddle to change though. :)

Ahh. A proper straight 6 Volvo predating the nasty PRV V6. :y
The PRV V6 is a very good engine, in a French car that is..

I'd go the "nordic" way and fit a couple of Hella/Bosch driving lights or a LED lightbar. A LED bar can be nicely mounted in the bumper/lower grille

I'll be very interested to hear how you get on DIY'ing oil changes, filters and such  :y

I imagine some things will be a right fiddle, given the engine is the wrong way round compared to the mig and I have hands like shovels.  ;D That said I used to DIY SWMBO's 3.0 x-type which had a transverse v6, gearbox and 4wd gubbins packed in. Most jobs I didn't know whether I should seek assistance from a mechanic or a proctologist! :D.

Haynes book arrived and there's no faffy procedure with the gearbox oil, just drain and refill. I'll probably do most of it on the drive on ramps, then level it in the street to top up  :y

Naah 'tis a Volvo, serviceing shouldn't cause any problems.

Wow, that Mazda service light.. How unpractical can you make it :D
Compared to any Citroen/Pug, where it's just holding down the trip button and turn the ignition on for 10 sec. How it should be :y

I believe these have an aux electric water pump that cools the turbo after running.
Maby turbo issues otherwise?
Cooling fan?

Moral of the story, keep a key in ya pocket. :P

Or always keep a window open when working on a car.
