I had the same problem and when i checked my aerial connections at the aerial end i found some one had disconnected the aerial cable going to the head unit and connected another fly lead to it for another after market phone.
Before i changed the cable over i had bugger all signal unless i was beside an aerial mast. Now i get full signal more or less all the time.
You just need to take the back trim off that covers the rear windscreen brake light and you can drop the roof lining just enough to see the connections.
