I've just read Ryan's thread "NCDC 2013 Radio Safe" with great interest as I'm getting the same fault.
Mine started Last week after trying to remove the stuck cdc magazine by banging on the dashboard.
I have tried to get the fault codes off the system with a cheap "My Naff Code Reader".
NCDC 2013
00052 - EEPROM Not Programmed _ Present.
00191 - CAN-Bus Max.- Config.- List not Complete _ Not present.
00199 - CAN-Bus no Communication Telematik Unit _ Present.
CDC
00062 - Replace Electronic Control Unit (ECU) _ Present.
00063 - CD-Changer Magazine Malfunction _ Present.
The "My Naff Code Reader" goes into error when reading the NCDC 2013 after its first read.
The Radio does work if I switch it off and then on selecting the tuner, if I select Nav. it goes into Radio Safe Mode.
If its possible to fix up a tech 2 session with TB, it might help both of us.
I'm trying to get this problem sorted with the local dealer and will try to get it done this week - I will let you know what the outcome is, (fingers crossed) :y

Shame you are overseas, as this is one of those instances where I really would advise anyone to come to me, despite distance, to fix  :'(

That's what I was thinking too, from the reputation you have on here, I know that you're the man that could sort it out.

Do you think a tech 2 session will sort it out? :-?

Could it be that the system is corrupted and is now thinking that it has telematics? - I was reading on some of the german forums about people who have experienced the same thing I have and this is what turned out to be the problem.

I have researched this further and it would seem that the problem is due to the system looking for a telematics unit which does not exist and that this can occur because of a software problem due to a power failure or surge, the solution is to delete the telematics unit and the resulting error (no communication on the bus) that it causes.
Does this sound plausable?

The head unit is a NCDC 2013 - they don't use security codes, they are married together so that one cannot work without the other, I'm thinking that somehow the head unit has depaired itself from the CID, any thoughts from anyone on this?

My appologies, thought they were coded.   :-[

I spoke to someone at the dealers today and he thinks they are coded too.

Tried restarting car (Leaving it off for a while) I also tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery but it's still the same.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / NCDC 2013 Radio Safe
« on: 10 September 2010, 02:01:02 »
Hi all, jumped into the Omega today and when I went to the nav menu the message "Radio Safe" kept coming up every 5 seconds or so with a loud beep >:(, it also happens in the radio menu but I have noticed that in the main menu and the cd changer menu that it doesnt come up - also the steering wheel controls don't work.
Anyone any ideas as to what is wrong (sounds like a tech 2 session)  :'(.

Thanks in advance  :y.

Thanks guys, I have already disconnected the  powersounder and have remained in the car after I took out the key and locked the doors - all the lights go out (including the boot) and all else seems to be off, when I check fuse 7 in this scenario it is consuming about 0.25 amps and also I can here the green relay behind the fuse box clicking when I reinsert the fuse - according to the handbook fuse 7 is for the courtesy lights, I note that as these dim down and go out the current drops to this amperage.
What is connected to fuse 1 under the bonnet above the battery as this is drawing about 1 Amp, I have checked the rest of the circuits in the fuse boxes and they are drawing very little if any current milliamps at most.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Leaking Current
« on: 16 July 2010, 00:01:20 »
Hi all, I have a very annoying problem with the 3.2 Omega in that the battery is totally flat after a few days and as I mainly use the car at the weekend this is a regular occurance - I have checked to see if any current is being drawn when the doors are locked and have found that fuse 7 (Courtesy Lamp) is drawing about 0.25 Amps also under the bonnet fuse 1 above the battery is drawing about 1 Amp; anyone have any ideas on this one or have found a similar problem to this before?
Thanks in advance.  :y

I'm talking about where the temperature sensor connects - the crank sensor is done.
