I'm finding out this car is costing!!!! My rear section of the exhaust has corroded, meaning I need everything from the cats onwards. Being a 3.2 estate, I'm finding it difficult to find a good price. My local garage want £450.
Am I better off getting a stainless steel jobbie made up? Any recommendations?

I had three bearing replaced a few weeks ago - 2x front, 1x rear I WAS going to get all four done - but it took the guy just over 2 hours to do the rear...so we gave that a mutual wide swerve!
Was about £25+VAT for the actual bearing...£80+VAT to get it fitted.
£350 is VERY expensive...try a local independant that you trust.
I think it may be cheaper for me to drive to Scotland & back AND get the job done

UPDATE!!!!
Well, our friendly RAC man has been and immediately suspects the crank sensor. He did pull it out and clean it, but to no avail....Luckily this time the fault has gone hard, so I'm waiting for a shovel to recover the car back to my garage.

One of those weeks! A few nights ago, my mv6 3.2 started after cranking for about 5 secs, it normally fires up immediately. I drove 50 miles, parked, an hour later it would not start. Waited an hour, it fired up. :-?
Next day, car was fine. Today, drove an hour, parked at work for 7hrs, car will not start.
Any ideas before I call out the RAC?

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah, not an XDJ - I'm a very active DJ - I do about 60 gigs a year, but that's another story. I could not get m1xdj, so had to settle for m4xdj
Pretty wicked car, had an R reg 2L GL before, quite plain & a bit sluggish but LOADS of room like this one. What the hell am I going to replace it with? They are no longer made I beleive.
