Omega General Help / What does the small vac pipe under the throttle

Just been having a check and fround the thin small vac pipe that plugs in under the throttle body not conected. Conected now ,but just whated to know what it does and how it would effect the runing of the car if not pluged in

Omega General Help / Adjusting streeting box

I lknow that it has been coved before so forgive me , but looking to check to see if i can take out some of the play from the box. Could anyone give me a step by step  run over how this is done as is my 1st time and do not what to mess things up. I think that i can see the box at the back of the engine drivers side ( metal box with a nut in the center.

Omega General Help / Checking codes

Just had a check with my new u380 scanner that i go from e-bay LOVE IT . Checked the codes and got 0420 which i know about and have cleared but also  0720 with a P next to it which i think is Ouput shaft speed sensor circuit not shur if this is an old code as it had p next to it on the display .

Just to check what would give that code as car has been runing fine.

I have cleared all the codes now.....Should save you having to get your laptop out evey time we meet Andy .

Omega General Help / Quick job to do breathers

Had some time yesterday as working from home to just do some checks on the engine Oil, Coolant and so on. One of the jobs i did was to clean the breathers and was very surprised to see how much muck was in them after they here done in Setember. The car has had 3k oil changes with VX oil and not may short tips most long motorway runs.

Looks like the cold has a big effect on the system so just a tip if you have not done the breathers for some time may be a good time to check as it is a qiuck job . I also remove the thottle body and gave that a clean to.  .

Thanks to the forum getting more confindent on doing these small jobs now .

Omega General Help / Pollen Air filter

Just about to change the pollen air filter under the r the passager side wiper on the top it has "AIR FLOW" and two arrows, just to check which way the arrows should be pointing or if it matters any.

Omega General Help / HBV

Just to check and see what you thinks just was checking the pollan filler and oil and noticed that the small thin pipe going into the top of the HBV same not seated all the way down. Woulkd this allow the HBV to leak out coolant as it was repaced just a few months a go and could see some white stains on the top of it .

Omega General Help / Best place for new Key

After soon time my key for my facelift has had it need to get a new one Full key where would be the best place to go i know i can get one from the dealers but that would be £££. Can Anyone eles think of  where .

And am i right in thinking i will need a tech 2 to reprogram the new key.

Omega General Help / Heating vents

Just to check if this is right

I seem to get most of the heat from the side vents in my car when they are opened to the max. Get some for mid vent but not as much ...is this right or is there somthing to look at

Omega General Help / Is This Right

Today with the Outside Temop at -3 the temp gauge was showing was a bit under the 80 mark, this was on the motorway at 70mph . Is this about right with the cold weather . Put the heating one from when i started the car.

When stopped at work the temp went upto 80 within about 30sec before i turned off the engine. Not sure if i need to replace the Stat  . The cabin temp seemed to be working fine.Also should the temp drop whenn heating is on in the car by much  when set at 24.:question and is there a way of checking the temp with Tech 2.

Omega General Help / where to start looking

Just taken the car out and seem to be getting a squleing from the front of the engine sounds around the aux belt  area. I have replace the belt 3 months ago and looks fine. Car drives fine also

Anyone have any pointers on where to start looking.

Checked and it was a losse conection on injetor 4 put back in and runing like a dream.

Thanks to every one for there help and pointing me it the right place.

How long will it take for the code to clear and take the ligh off.

Very happy now will take it for a good run after work .

Having probs with bad runing have just rechecked the codes and came up with

0303  or 0302

0300
0304

would this mean that this would mean a missfire on the same bank looking to change the plugs later today.

What do you think

Omega General Help / Something not right HELP

Just had a run out to drop something off to Mark on the way back when i stopped at some lights it seemed a if the car was idering a bit low as if it was about to cut out be it did,nt.

When outside the car sounds of if it is chugging and there is a diff sound that normal from the backbox...almost as if its not fireing as it shoud
Car is not in limp mode and no greabox message ....can anyone help a point me where to start. .
