Well its been 100 hours since my last cigarette and I feel great.

The first 48 - 72 hours were the hardest and I think SWMBO would agree with that. I was very stressed!!

I feel loads better for giving up

General Discussion Area / Wireless connection disconnecting

I know some of you are very knowledgeable with computers and wireless etc. so maybe you can help me out.

About 7 or 8 times a day my desktop pc drops its wireless connection and I have to click repair connection (or on occassion restart my pc) to get it back. I am fairly sure that it is my wireless adapter that is fubared (because my laptop and Wii are both fine) but thought I would see if anyone had any other suggestions?

I think I am going to try and run my desktop via ethernet but the main phone socket is a long way from where the desktop is which of course brings its own problems. What is the longest ethernet cable I will get away with?

General Discussion Area / Another weird computer problem......

I still haven't got to the bottom of my other computer problem (for now I am not turning my computer off) but now have another more pressing problem......

When I try to load some pages on the web I get an error message saying that the page cannot be found. It only happens with certain sites but (and this is the strange part) if I continue trying it always loads on he 12th attempt.

Any ideas??? :-/ :-/ :-/

Over the last few days I have started shutting my computer down at night to save electricity (our bill is rather huge).

Anyway when I come to boot up in the morning it takes about 5 attempts. When I press the button it gets so far and then shuts down again. Try again and it gets a little further and then shuts down again.

Done a full virus scan and even restored to a previous point when it wasn't doing it but no joy.

Any suggestions?

Well we got back last night from 2 weeks in sunny Andalucia.

Had a great time, kids loved every minute of it and didn't want to come home.

Why should anyone show this man any compassion? Why should he be allowed to spend his dying days with his family? His victims weren't allowed the same privilege!

I know one of the first people on the scene that night in Lockerbie and he will never forget it.

Just another example of how feeble, weak and terrified our government is. :-/ :-/

General Discussion Area / Going on holiday!!!

We were looking at going away for 2 weeks in the Uk in a caravan. Possibly Kent so we could go over to France for a couple of days. Cheapest we could find was around £800.
Anyway decided just out of curiosity to have a look at flights to go and see my realtives in a place called Ayamonte in Andalucia.

Result!! £365 return for all 4 of us with Jet2.

Roll on 27th August!

Well I finally got round to taxing my car again yesterday after it being off the road for 3 months.

Took it out for a blast last night to blow away the cobwebs and it felt so good to have it back. Seems that all the work that I (and Daz) have done is all good.

Heres to a few months of trouble free motoring!

Love him or hate him, he is naturally gifted behind the wheel.
Personally I like him and I hope that he does well. How cool would it be if he stuck the ferrari on pole for that first race. Some story that would be!

Problem is I want Jenson to win the title so don't want Schumi doing too well!
