General Discussion Area / PPI question...
« on: 22 October 2012, 17:00:09 »
Does anyone know if PPI can be claimed back on a mortgage that was for a shop? Or is it just for residential property's ?
Swmbo has been told that because the mortgage was for a business she can't claim.
Seems a bit unfair if that's the case, surely PPI is PPI regardless of what it was for.

Omega General Help / Can't find MOT...
« on: 22 October 2012, 15:14:56 »
Hunted high and low and can't find the thing anywhere. The MOT isn't due for a while but I can't remember ecxactly when. Is there a way I can find out from a website? I bought the car with MOT on it so don't know the garage name or number offhand.

If its an auto do you only ever use the D? Or do you play around with the 1 2 3? Do you use the sports mode much?
Past couple of days I've had the MV6 in sports mode everywhere I go, as usually it's just in D. What a difference, my grin is beginning to attract some strange looks  ;D

Back from London couple of days ago. Fantastic city. Done all the touristy things. Loved the London eye, swmbo wasn't so keen  :)
The tube was a bit daunting at first but soon got the hang of it.
Only 4 hours on the train from Carlisle as well so will return later in the year for the weekend.  :y

Came through our town today, Dumfries, was bloody chaos for hours as drivers had to find alternate routes, all of which were extremely busy.
Didn't bother me at all... I was at work  ;D ;D

General Discussion Area / Another quick London question...
« on: 08 September 2012, 20:27:40 »
Currently booking shows /attractions for our trip to London in couple weeks, I'm using the iPad.
What I want to know is, do I have to print off the tickets that I have bought onto actual paper? Or will they accept the confirmation page on the iPad as proof I have bought the tickets?
I have taken a photo which shows confirmation codes and reference numbers.

General Discussion Area / London tourist multi-ticket...
« on: 05 September 2012, 10:40:46 »
On the 17th myself and Swmbo are off to London for 4 nights. It's her 40th on the 15th so it's her birthday present.
Last night I was trying to buy tickets for the usual tourist places.
I've came across one, called the London Gold Bundle, it gets us access to the Eye, Tussauds,London tower,Tower bridge experience, a hop on-hop off London open top bus and a hop on - hop off river cruise.

It's the last 2 I'm not sure about. On the online application form you have to state which days you will visit the attractions.

This is where I get confused... The form only has one 'slot' for the bus and river tour. The actual line in the form reads......state which day you would like to do the open top bus/ river cruise....And I have to give them a date.

Which makes me think I have to do both on the same day? I don't really want to be ' forced' to do both on the same day so have I got this right or not?
Anyone done this kind of thing lately? Any places you can recommend? I know she desperately wants to see a show when we are there.
Any help/tips or advice greatly appreciated.
 TIA  :y :y

General Discussion Area / Anyone know York?
« on: 31 August 2012, 14:11:27 »
Swmbo and I are off to York tomorrow for a night, can anyone recommend a good place to stay? Preferably with a bit of haunted history and prefer to be as close to the centre as possible.
Already rang the golden fleece, they're fully booked :'(

Princess Diana died. Time flys eh?
I was driving my taxi listening to Talkradio when the news broke that Dodi had been killed outright and Diana was seriously injured.
Every passenger I told thought I was telling them some kind of sick joke and was waiting on the punchline.

General Discussion Area / Have they found it yet?

The lion that was wandering around the Essex countryside? Heard on the news at work this morning that there had been 3 sightings. Police helicopters and marksmen were hunting it this morning.
Won't be many folk walking their dogs until its been found ;D
