« on: 09 August 2009, 19:54:15 »
Any one else on here having trouble with theIr tomtom,as i have been on to the website and down loaded map updates and now it wont  find any streets or post codes , then it shuts down and reboots its self and tells me the SD card id not loaded. What a load of crap.I >:(now have to send the thing back to them for repair after spending an hour on the phone trying to reset the memory. They wont admit that the downloads are corrupted and say that it must be something that i did when i downloaded the updates.

« on: 29 July 2009, 22:56:39 »
Hi all, i am wondering if there are any north of the border [glasgow area] members who are travelling to the newent meet who could pick up a poss purchase from fleabay and bring it down with them. I am looking at purchasing some chrome side bars for my cherokee and there are some for sale in the glasgow area. If not is there any chance of forming some kind of chain to get it to scarbourgh as my mum is just outside town at osgodby North yorks, Fingers crossed it can happen.  Many thanks Gary. :y

General Discussion Area / To Jamie[ The boy] WIM OOF MEET ?
« on: 19 July 2009, 21:02:16 »
Jamie, are there any future plans for another WIM open day, as i am sure that there are a few new members, and older ones come to mention it that would benifit from the experiance of the omega master looking over their pride and joy. Hope that something can be arranged in the next few months. For those that are not aware Tony bones is the man to see if your rubbing your front tyres out on the inner edge,  you will not be disapointed belive me. Gary.

General Discussion Area / MOT.
« on: 22 November 2008, 16:46:32 »
Well boys and girls, i had a sneeky feeling that my mot was due but could not find my old certificate, which is very odd as i keep all my car docs safe , but i guess the swmbo has moved them. Well my pal at vx kingston was at work today and a trip to see him confirmed my suspictions, it expired 2 months ago[bad bad boy], so a new mot was performed today and PASSED WITH FLYING COLOURS. He did say that the passenger side head light was a touch to low but when he tried to adjust the beam up it made no difference so  i have the dreaded broken adjuster. They did have a new light in stock and he said that the lamps on the car were pattern parts[Depo] and wre not as good as gen parts and he showed me the difference [ wow ] the depo have crap beam spread compared to the gen new lamp.  Now i am aware that the old wil not be as they were when new due to weathering. so new lights to be bought when finances allow[or if i can con the other half to allow me to use her credit card] ;D then took the car for a splat down the A3and M25 to give it a good run and get rid of the cobwebs.Dam it still feels good to drive. :y

General Discussion Area / oil cooler.
« on: 26 July 2008, 23:19:31 »
Today i managed to do my first oil cooler on a v6[veccy]b and had no major issues of any sort, now just got to get the oil out of the cooling system now, so quite a few flushes with detergent and finally forte before a 50/50 mix of pink coolant. I have to say that working on a transverse engine is much easier than the omega in terms of back pains :D.Price of parts came to about £90 on TC. :) Gary. PS see you all that are going to WIM tomorow.

General Discussion Area / The Big Trip
« on: 21 June 2008, 17:39:28 »
Well today i had the crank sensor changed on my v6 by my vx tecky pal in prep for the drive down to southern spain, 1229.5 miles according to mr tomtom, then i changed the oil and filter, pollen filter, and air filter. A good look under the car when it was in the air revealed nothing of any worry, and no signs of anything about to fall off. Tyres all wearing evenly[ thanks WIM] and no coolant leaks. The only thing that i will get done when i get back is a small oil leak on the rear diff from the drive shaft seal.... I am ready to go, cant wait till friday.  ooooh i am so excited. :D

Ps going down via le mans, so i might have to take a small detour to the race track for a blast [if you can].
