Hi guys,can anyone tell me are there any legal requirements,regarding allowing your mot to expire,but leaving the car parked in off road private car park. It is fully insured to next Aug and taxed until April,i.e will I receive any fines in the post  >:(well your might just say mot it.Well between the tyres,wishbones,new mv6 front spring and shocks,exhaust and all the other bits and pieces thats gonna costs lots of ££  .Just like to know am i breaking any rules.

Omega General Help / Which Mig

Dropped into the local stealers today,but the guy in Parts was very helpful .was trying 2 find out whether the recently aquired full set of springs,purchased from another member,no names mentioned where indeed off a late Model Mv6 3000ltr. Seems not  ....
Vx says no colour codes or etched Nos on front springs but should have etched Nos on rear which should read LU or LW. Mine Read LP    Any you guys know what these are off

Hi guys,first off im giving up self employment in 2 days and resigning myself 2 P.A.Y.E the Sacrifices we make 2 keep our beloved Migs .Anyway I`ll begin, This Lot needs doing..
1. Full Service,oil plugs,filters,front pads breathers+possible cam and tensioners.
2. Low speed fan issue needs sorting+ anti freeze change.. Gets Better
3. Broken NSF. spring, [lower pig tail] have full set but not sure if Mv6..
4. Wish Bones+idler may poly bush,drop links,anti roll bar bushes.
5. Leak on diff.Osr.
6. Exhaust, Cats back.
 Some idea of cost would be good guys,or should I just pay someone day rate 2 get it sorted..

Omega General Help / Point me in right direction

Hi guys posted this b4 some time ago,fans do not EVER come on low speed,instead temp rises to 97/98 Degrees then they both cut in together and temp drops to 85/87. I did replace fan switch but as I was watching the Pennies so bought 1 from Euro farts. This new switch did not cut fans in at low speed either,in fact this made things worse with fans not cutting in until 100+ Switch removed pronto and Vx put back things back 2 b4 repair. Also guys this is annoying the WIFE    because if the mig is in the mid 90s i will let her climb up to fans cut in,then when temp back down switch off,usally results in comment why are you still sitting the Bloody car .. Could someone please tell me where I should looking next,pump replaced last Oct when I bought the Mig and this problem has Dogged me since day 1. 2000 3LTR MV6 man

Hi guys does anyone know what code should be on a set of mv6 springs. Recently purchased a set or so i was told from another Forum member,no names metioned .. They re Black . only joking... Front springs do not appear 2 have any stamps or stickers,but the rears have the sticker LP 23 03,if these are not MV6 im going 2 be right HACKED OFF in which case i would grateful if someone could point me in the direction as 2 what model there 4

Omega General Help / too much oil

Hi guys was getting ready 4 tomorrows meet in oxford,then just as was topping up oil, the the bloody wife calls  and distracts me. You can guess what happens next 2 MUCH  OIL  .
About 1/4 inch above max mark and making a low pitched whooring noise when i rev Gently ! and remove foot from gas. Could anyone please tell me whats in the the centre of drain plug.. Allen key or Spline and what size cheers..
Oh 2000 3ltr MV6 man new shape.. I really want 2 make the meet.

Hi guys just a quick 1,tomorrow I will be leaving Britains fair shores 4 five weeks and am wondering which is the best course of action,Leave it,but Im not sure if the Power Sounder will trip or Disconnect Battery,cannot remove power sounder,all tools in van and thats away for repairs.

Omega General Help / Air Lock part 2,

Saga continues with water boiling out over expansion tank in mid to high 90s on tick over,what may be an Air lock.took some good advice from you guys about,flushing and reverse flushing heater matrix,the air from my vents is roasting,as 4 removing flow and return hoses,they wouldnt budge.
Is there any other way of filling cooling system,the fans dont come in at all now,water not circulating,im thinking Thermo stuck.Any thoughts Guys would be Great

How do I remove an Airlock from my heating system, Ive managed to to get warm air but not exactly hot at the vents,but the car still boils over,any info on airlocks would be great guys

Omega General Help / Please Avice

Still no further on guys,wish i had never changed the fan switch over in an effort to find out should the fans come at a low speed and then high.
1st attempt,remove Vx switch,replace with euro parts switch,so old switch out ,new in,top with water,fire up,heater on high and full,warm air coming through in a few minutes,no boiling over,but fans dont kick in to 100+,worse than before and not staying on for half the time..
Day 2 same as above,but change back to original switch. EVEN WORSE !.. Cold air blasting through heater vents,boiling over.AIR LOCK for sure can shift it not a hope,fans working,not at all,Im I prepared to keep running my Pride and Joy up to these silly temps,FORGET IT !
Right now i would be happy to get that Dam Airlock shifted and the water ciculating properly even without the coolant. Ive checked the guides nothing on removing air locks as far as i can see.
Someone must of had this nightmare, because guys short of ripping out the thermostat I need someone to PLEASE point me in the right direction. :-/

Omega General Help / Too Hot for Me

Hi guys need some advice on whats supposed 2 happen when the fans kick in. First off,shes a black 2000 face lift 30ltr man Mv6. ? are the fans supposed to come on Slow Speed around low 90s,because they dont instead temp slowly climbs to uncomfortable 98,99 deg,then both fans come in at once and you would hardly discribe them as Turbo speed guys,but the temp then drops to 90 deg driving in slow traffic or 86 deg stationary and the whole painful process starts again.
Now recently attended 1st meet in Bucks and everything was Tech 2 all good,no codes . Radar did notice fans not coming in and did some multi meter Magic around the relays,he managed to kick those fans in full whack ! on test,suggested new Fan Switch as first port of call,duly purchased from Euro Farts,wrong part , back again right part,changed today,battery out,some water drained,sensor out,finger in hole,new sensor in,top up with water only,fire up heater on full.. WORSE THAN EVER !  Miggy took a fair old time to start moving temp gauge,climbed slowly up to 90 deg,then 91,92 etc etc 98,99 100 where are the BLOODY fans ? 101 SHUTDOWN ! AS I DO the fans decide to wake up and come on for all of 10 secs then off I let her cool down..
So old Sensor VX part appears to work better than new sensor Euro Farts part or is it because Ive weakened the Anti-Freeze summer coolant mixture,I have to admit Ive drained and topped up with water twice while fitting new sensor.. :-? Please Advise Im lost as what to do next Guys

Hi guys,
Could someone recommend which brand of engine oil to put in a 2000 3ltr Mv6,have no clue whats in there as I was just thinking about topping it up :-/.
Owned since last October covered about 800 miles since then and I do dip it guys, but TBH.not that often.Im a member of Cost Co but Ive read posts in the past about not using Castrol Semi Syn as its alot cheaper to buy,also how many litres,no doubt I'll 2 cans .

Omega General Help / security system hay wire

Hi guys need some advice ASAP,MIG is completely imobilised,cannot even lock the doors on the key they automaticly release,the radio switches itself on. Remote key does not work on any function ..
Today i opened a window slighty,but turned off the internal sensors with button on dash,then locked the car as normal,tonight unlocked as normal but i thought i had to press console button again,after that every thing went hay wire,car is now locked,door buttons pushed down manually,come out through rear passenger holding outside door up to lock .. Any advise chaps im  LOST !
