Cars for Sale & wanted / 2001 black mv6 3.2 auto estate
« on: 29 March 2012, 11:00:51 »
mot'd  dec taxed  end of may
I bought this as a project with the intention of swapping the lpg kit from my 2.6but came across an already converted car so have purchased that. The car has 155k but is being used so will rise ..when ii bought it the cam cover gaskets were bad and the plug recesses were full of oil..these have been changed for genuine gm ones and an oil and filter change was done...there is some history and a receipt for cambelt change in sept 10 @134k..faults i have noticed could possibly do with the wishbones polybushed car was tramlining but has improved vastly when i had 2 new front tyres fitted 2 days ago..the autochanger doesn't work and the unit has bass treble and balance knobs missing...rumbling noise from rear wheel possible wheel bearing although there was no movement when it was on ramp...
the body work is ok for a 11 year old car has a couple of bubbles on tailgate and some slight marks on arches and a small dent on bonnet
  photo's to follow
£1200 or £1500 with all work done

I can't believe in this day and age the lengths this cover up with the popular media has gone..with BBC Scotland pulling a documentry because a producer's job was threatened and panorama sweeping it under the carpet..

General Car Chat / back in the fold
« on: 10 March 2012, 16:22:07 »
after writing my f/l mv6 off in the snow at the start of feb,and my mfl elite needing quite a bit of work to get her roadworthy, this last 4 weeks i have been driving around in a 406 diesel estate..i have found it ok fuel wise, but uncomfortable as i'm quite tall and very fat.. ;D plus it had a few electrical glitches with the heater and drivers window..i've now replaced it with

a 3.2 mv6.....now i have to scratch my head and decide whether i'm going to keep her and get somebody to remove my lpg kit  from my f/l and fit it on this car...buy zirks lpg elite sell off the bits off the written off car..and sell the estate when she's sorted...decisions decisions decisions... :-\

General Car Chat / slowly falling out with lpg
« on: 01 February 2012, 12:27:27 »
i have had 2 lpg omegas since 2009 the first one tbf never ran correctly on lpg and was bodged from fitting until daz and a lpg expert from chorley sorted it it then ran fine for 9 months and then started with the same old problems...By then I had lost patience, so early this year I bought my present car from elite pete .Its a 2.6 mv6 with a professional conversion..All was fine until november this year when it started to misfire on gas and a eng management light came on..It showed codes 300,301,303 which seems to be misfire cylinder one and three..thought coilpack so had that changed along with some new 4 core plugs and it's still missing...i'm getting to the stage where i want to sell the car and buy a old e300 /530d   and run on diesel.. :( :(
