Omega General Help / Facelift Windscreen wet inside.
« on: 04 November 2020, 22:32:06 »
Evening.
Just recently, The screen is wet on the inside after work, when it hasnt rained, but doesnt seem to be wet first thing in the morning, whether it rains or not.
I have cleared the scuttle drain, the vents in the boot are ok.
Pollen filter is the charcoal one.
I made the mistake of wiping it with a towel, which made it worse, so its going to have a good clean.
I wonder if its a Heater matrix problem.
I did flush it through last year, but its worse again, so changing it this weekend. Although i think i last did this about four years ago.
It blows warm ish at me or the footwell, but cold at the screen.
The Aircon doesnt work, it never has.

Can anyone suggest anything else?

Evening.

As advised, I sent my gaiters off to the tuning shop on ebay, they have now copied the pattern and its for sale.
Quite a good job aswell. Mine is a facelift.

There was a debate on here about only manual being available, even though they are probably very similar.
They do however list it as Vauxhall Omega C.
Thought some of you might be interested.

Omega General Help / Idle speed is lumpy. 3.2
« on: 22 April 2020, 22:03:51 »
I don't have an idle control valve to clean do I?
How does the Dbw control it?
Mine is rough, although the engine is fine, its just the idle.
I'm doing the cam covers this weekend (Genuine gaskets), plugs, and breathers.
Is there anything I can do about it at the same time?

Thanks in advance.

Omega General Help / V6 Cam cover gaskets.
« on: 02 April 2020, 20:04:56 »
Its gasket time, she leaks.

On my old 2.5 I used Autovaux gaskets that they claimed were genuine, and I cant remember if they suplled the o rings.
I don't know how long they lasted because I bought the 3.2 a year later.

Should I trust Autovaux? I need these to last..
Have heard mixed reviews...

Omega General Help / More wishbones..
« on: 02 April 2020, 20:00:58 »
My plan is to get the bones replaced, switch front bushes for polys, keep rear bushes stock and replace.
Now I remember years ago telling a mechanic I wanted the Gm wishbones kept and new bushes pressed in, but he wouldn't have it and said it didn't matter. I don't know which brand he used in the end.

My question is, which wishbones should I buy? Im worried about possible snapping with front polys in use.

Mileage low, but driven with spirit shall we say. Nothing too hard.

Omega General Help / Lazy Door Motor. Drivers.
« on: 15 January 2020, 21:40:26 »
Im aware that the door locking motors can be repaired with replacement switches, but is that when they dont work at all?

Mine unlocks with the fob but doesnt come up high enough any more, you have to open the rear door and pull it up, or i usually use the key, in which case it works fine.

Any ideas?

Omega General Help / Which Spark Plugs?
« on: 12 January 2020, 12:23:39 »
Ive read previous posts, am i right that the twin electrodes are best for a 3.2? (Lpg fitted, not in use but soon to be fixed)
The ones fitted are bosch 4 electrodes, sometimes getting a missfire first thing, but not that often.
It clears soon after.
Coils are  genuine bosch, about 4 years old..

So i was thinking Ngk BKR6EK? Which i believe are twins..

Omega General Help / Heater was not working, now is.
« on: 27 October 2019, 15:57:22 »
I've had a lukewarm heater for a while, so I flushed the matrix out today and it was then stone cold.
Pipes hot. No vac from hbv.
On the way home the heater suddenly came on hot, so was this an air lock?
I'm very happy but puzzled....

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Instrument issue, no speedo
« on: 31 July 2019, 22:27:21 »
I havent used the car for a couple of weeks, and now, most of the time.  the tach and speedo are not working.
Speedo flickers, tach doesnt.
It randomly came alive earlier but dead again.

Fuel and temp gauges fine, as are all warning lights and dash lights.
Looking on here it seems i have to replace the cluster, and it has to be from a 3.2?
Could anyone add to this?

Many Thanks

Afternoon, I had both engine mounts done recently, ever since then, the shift lever doesn't seem to correctly line up with the gears but was fine before.
It also slips out of park when facing uphill....
Any ideas?

Was on Bitterne Road the other night, Mv6 pulled up at the lights, we both gave thumbs up then drove.
I think it was green, but it had two exhausts, looked very clean.
Wondered if the owner is on here...
