General Discussion Area / Sick retard...
« on: 30 January 2012, 09:20:04 »
How retarded does someone have to be to do this ?!? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enbK57QwLTs
Recording in Ljubljana, capital city, he was prosecuted, found guilty, lost his driving licence and have to pay large fine, a few of them exactly....BUT!....
Yesterday the same idiot tried to escape from the police again, with two more passengers in a car....he collected every posible fineb including driving with no licence...At least he got what he deserves. In critical condition, luckily no one else was hurt. Pics of the end result in next post

Omega General Help / Max weight in the boot?
« on: 21 January 2012, 08:26:28 »
Does anyone know what's the max weight for the estate boot to handle?
I plan to take some "rail sleepers"(i hope this is the expression for the wooden horizontal columns under the tracks) to drive a car on them for oil change and some easy works under my omega. Total weight of four is a bit less than 400 kg, they are 8 feet long (two feet too long I know). It's the cheapest solution compared to jack stands and similar. And a nice workout for my S/L suspension  8) Thanks, Stan

General Discussion Area / Any electrician here?
« on: 01 January 2012, 19:17:47 »
So, I'm trying to repair an old Marantz cd player. Till now I found a power supply unit is dead. Searching for fault and following the connections on circuit board I found out that voltage 230v doesn't even reach the transformer because of this (at least I think so) faulty thingy - the roundy in the middle Does anyone know what it is? I think it's a capacitor but there's been a "few" years from my school times... :o Sorry for such an off topic TID Stan

General Car Chat / Please some logic about engine oil
« on: 25 December 2011, 16:11:53 »
Just changed oil on my Omega yesterday, and oil filter...air filter..etc. I'm using this oil Today, an our ago I changed oil and other things on VW polo 1.4  owned by brother in law.
The thing is, comparing GM 10w 40 and his Valvoline 10w 40, GM oil seems like water. Is that the same as your experiences, guys? TID , Stan

General Discussion Area / At the dentist
« on: 19 December 2011, 16:09:53 »
Had a sewere toothache for three days now. Eating pills with big spoon  >:( Yesterday I went to the dentist on duty, no difference, still hurts as hell. Now I'm in Ljubljana, 50 miles away. Been on x-ray, only thing I saw was the word "urgent' . Dam...d, happy december and winter blah blah.... Only ones I hate more than dentists are hairdressers. I'd rather see all teeth drilled than going to hairdresser...like long hair... Tooth hurts BUT driving in my omega makes it a bit better, just love it  8)

Omega General Help / Serious coolant leak
« on: 28 November 2011, 06:41:36 »
Good morning to all, I just took a son to school, parked at home and there was something about coolant level on MID. Took a look and there's no coolant!?! There was a small leak since I bought my omega, but not to serious. I topped it up last wednesday and done about 500 miles since - now it's empty. All was done on motorway with heating on.

I've read a lot about HBV on forum  before but haven't found a location of it on X20XEV engine, only on V6.
Can you help me to locate the leak and HBV please?
Thanks

General Discussion Area / It's been two weeks
« on: 26 November 2011, 07:27:58 »
........since my 'fancy' android broke down, yet I'm back with an old symbian nokia E61i, which I don't like - slow, strange to work with once I got used to touch screen...Never mind, in this time my Omega has done 2000 miles all together, been to my parents in the other part of my small country (200km), brought home a half of nice tasty pig, had and still have bad, severe backache - still taking pills BUT omega stikll driving well, smooth on motorway with no radio on just to hear the silence of a pleasant journey. When adjusted driver's seat poroperly even my back didn't hurt- I'm concidering an option to seat in my Omega till the pain goes away...Anyway, It's nice to be back here with you guys!

Omega General Help / Clicking sound - what is it? (video)
« on: 28 October 2011, 12:48:43 »
Hello again, when replacing cam sensor today I've found the source of a clicking sound coming from the engine since I bought my omega. I will paste a 20s long video taken today when I had all plastic belt protection away. It's a little metal part in the middle of the screen, moving  few mm up and down when engine works. Can't move it if engine isn't running. What is it / for and can it ruin something? I will paste video in next post
