So, less than 24 Hours to go before we decide Britain's fate, and if the Poll researchers are anything to go by, its going to be a tight Vote, currently averaging 44% each side, and the remainder yet to decide. Without doubt we'll find out this time Friday Morning.

Which ever way you vote and what ever the outcome, lets just hope we dont screw up, and the future of Britain's Economy, Security and Public Welfare, to name a few, are on track for prosperous and bright future.  :y

General Discussion Area / Major Tim Peake is back
« on: 18 June 2016, 16:10:11 »
Landed this morning, reckon He's only come back to Vote, doubt whether He'll be voting In or Out though more likely Up.

Cant believe its been 6 months already, since he flew off to the Stars, ah well, soon be Christmas.

I wonder whether he would have been allowed to Vote, if he was still up there on the day?

First off, dont wont to turn this into a 'should we, shouldn't we' or another Political Thread, but here on some on the reasons I heard or over heard from other people discussing the EU Vote, God help us.  ;D

If we Vote Out then we wont have to pay VAT anymore so everything will be cheaper.
If were out then I wont be able to Play Euro Millions.
If we win Out then the Prime Minister will be forced to resign and Boris will be the new PM.
Most Pubs will have to close down because most of our Beer is made in the EU.
If we come out, Holidays will be cheaper because they will bring back Duty Free Shops.
We should stay in because were protected by Nato.
They will have to close the Channel Tunnel if we come out.
We should stay in because I dont have a Passport and dont wont one.
Im in because I work for Ikea and dont wont to lose my Job.

What have you heard, over heard from other people?

Received in the post, £90 parking fine for parking in there Store whilst doing a 15 min shop in there.  >:(

Turns out they changed the rules recently, you have to declare your Reg Number at the till or face a fine. WTF. been shopping there for years, news to me.  :(

The Parking is subcontracted out to a third party, just been on the phone to them, waste of time, been told to contact Lidl for them to reverse the ticket, whilst on the phone I asked them to provide evidence of the agreed Contract I supposedly had them, the bird just laughed and said pay the fine or contact Lidl sir.  :(

On the phone to Lidl, they saying submit proof of shopping (ie Receipt, which I dont have anymore and yes I paid cash) and they may consider it as its a new policy at the Store.

I also asked Lidl,
1. Why was I not informed at the Till that I could face a fine for parking in the Carpark,
2. Do I get fined if I walk in the Store, look around, dont buy anything and walk out again (Ive actually done this when looking for Specials but are out of stock)
3. Why do they need my Reg Number at the till, this is personal data information, what is it being used for other than to confirm Im parked in your carpark but you already know that from the ANPR Cameras.
4. Why was I not informed of your Parking Fine Policy before walking into the Store to Shop.

No answers other than, you have to write to us.

Sodding thieving robbers, should I just ignore this, can it be enforced?

Ends Midnight apparently (20 May) or when ever midnight is in the USA.

This was sent to me today, iDrive Cloud / Back Up 1TB plus 1TB Sync offer for £8 for the 1st 12 months ($11.90), so for the sake of a couple of pints cost Ive given it a whirl, even if I only use it for a year, cant be any worse the the 1TB OneDrive I was using.

Im not affiliated, dont get any bonus or revenue from it, just thought it may help someone out if your struggling with cloud space.

Offer here - https://www.idrive.com/idrive/signup/el/bitcasa?utm_swu=2389

PC Mag review here - http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2362675,00.asp?utm_swu=4586

You download, PC, Mobile, Sync Apps etc blah, blah, USA based, Miliary Encryption, blah, blah,

Interestingly as part of the package you can request a 3TB USB Hard Drive from them, back up or clone your data etc then send it back and they will put that Data on your Cloud for you if you cant be arsed to upload the stuff yourself.

Chris.

General Discussion Area / Sky HD+ Box HDMI (HDCP) question.
« on: 02 May 2016, 15:38:55 »
Not mine, but one of my Sons when I was around there todey, Hes watching Sky Box through a Scart lead, when I asked why, 'coz it doesn't work in on the HD lead', so, having pluged in the HDMI lead its coming up your display does not support HDCP, (the HDMI copyright protection thing me thinks) but fairly sure the new TV should be fine.

Having played around for a while, and I know nothing to do with Sky boxes, ended ringing the Sky helpline,  ::) :'(, cut a long story short, having gone through what I had for breakfast questions, 40 mins later the Sky women says, 'well Mr Chris, seeing as your Broadband connection is with BT directly and not Sky, thats probably the problem, so ring BT'. Absolute ballards and a waste of time talking to them.

So Gents, whats the fix?, something simple hopefully.  :-\

General Car Chat / Quick Engine lift question X16XE
« on: 26 April 2016, 18:55:55 »
Corsa B 1.6 (X16XE I think), has dropped its engine mount drivers side, looks like bolt / nut that connect the Wing mount to the engine mount bracket has worked lose. Anyway question is its the engine is now hanging about 3 inch'es lower that side minus the bolts, if I get underneath and lift the engine with a trolly jack via a bit wood etc, is this likely to dent or crease the sump?, or should it be ok to lift the engine so I re nut / bolt back in place.

Picked some packs up today, 32 Bits and a Drill Extension, works out at 3p per bit, £1 a Pack (Poundland).  :y :y :y

If like me, youve lost or ruined the bits/ bit holder from the Halfords Tool Kit, Ive cut one of the red holders down to fit with the bits I need to replace.

Ok, they might not last long, the Halfords ones didn't either, but Ive tried expensive Titanium ones in my drill and they dont last either.

For Sale - Black Irmscher Steering Wheel Leather and Carbon Fibre effect with Audio HU Controls (No Air Bag, cant post Airbags legally).

Generally in good condition and ready to fit, but does have marks on the Carbon Effect and a mark on the leather.

The leather mark will probably work out if treated, the Carbon effect has a couple of small ones on the top and the biggest culprit being on the bottom underside. I have tried to take the photo's to reflect this.

I was going to get the Carbon bit repaired and fitted to one of mine but have decided to sell now. These are becoming very rare now and not easy to get your hands on.

Looking for £95 ono collected or plus some postage money if postage is required.

Any questions please ask. Thanks for looking Chris.
