I'm aware there has a been a price hike but.....

Standing charge up 20% FFS.
Day units up 25% FFS.
Night units up 40% FFS.

Night units are now getting closer in price to day units.  :-X

I'll look for a cheaper deal but I think they have us by the balls.

£100 off at present. £229 instead of £329.

Tuning box and not a bespoke remap.

Likely to work or snake oil? I tried something similar from Superchips a while back that made absolutely no difference, so I sent it back for a refund.

Which engine parameters are changed with a remap/tuning box?

General Discussion Area / Opti is gagging for it....literally.
« on: 17 November 2021, 18:23:01 »
Just returned from hospital following an endoscopy.

I had one previously in 2007.

They give you a choice between sedation or just throat spray. As sedation is for old people and nancy boys  I took the throat spray, and was able to watch the whole 'gullet fest' live on a TV monitor.

Great fun. ::)

Do you have an opinion on this, and do you think the outcome will have an impact on the UK?

General Discussion Area / Are such crossings legal?
« on: 10 November 2021, 13:55:18 »
Putting aside the utter ridiculousness of this scheme and waste of taxpayer money my question is.... are these new crossings legitimate?

More and more are springing up with each passing day....literally all the colours of the rainbow.

There appears to be no mention of such folly in The Highway Code. Government road and transport documentation seem to suggest that all crossings must adhere to strict rules and regulations.......and I'm far from sure that these do.

Are motorists supposed to stop for them, or ignore them, believing  they are just 'pavement art' implemented primarily by  councils with more money than sense.

Many motorists will have no idea what they are, or their purpose, so how long will it be before a child steps off the pavement believing he is safe to cross and.....splat. ::)

General Car Chat / Correct braking distance?
« on: 07 November 2021, 14:02:04 »
As the mighty and highly desirable Signum has been blessed with new front discs and pads, I thought I'd check out how well she stops. The brakes were pretty hopeless before the change but now she seems able to 'stop on a sixpence' :y

So.....from a genuine 60MPH she took 130.32 feet to stop in just 3.05 seconds.

But here is the confusion. The same data shows she also took 134.16 feet with AMS braking.

How is it possible to have two different figures? ??? ??? ......also WTF is AMS braking? I've used Mr Google but still don't fully understand. :-\

General Discussion Area / Boys in skirts.
« on: 05 November 2021, 16:31:00 »
Boys from a primary school in Scotland are being encouraged to 'wear a skirt to school' in Solidarity with a Spanish boy who was sent home from school because teacher's didn't like him wearing a skirt.

All in the name of diversity and inclusion, of course. :)

I don't recall being offered this attractive option of back in the day. ;D

They either have mental health issues and can't resist biting lumps out of other players......or they are dirty bastards who flob on teenage girls in a passing car

Now we have one who seems 'overly intimate' with the toes of his 20 year old daughter. :-X

I suppose when you get paid up to £600,000 a week you can act as you please. ::)
