General Discussion Area / car insurance
« on: 03 January 2019, 12:53:55 »
i am beginning to wonder whether it is worth getting my dti insured just third party, fire & theft as the valuation on an omega has really depreciated. when my 2.5 td got wrote off when a merc trying to get through traffic lights ran into the back of me. my insurer was only offering £60 once they had taken excess into consideration.  :-\

General Discussion Area / worx pressure washer
« on: 29 December 2018, 19:54:59 »
having seen the worx power washer ad i decided to buy one. i moved from york to a small village 25mls north. we dont have any shops so to get anything we have to travel a round trip of 10mls. the bungalow where i live is down a narrow lane with a bend leading to 6 houses. i am not able to park in the lane so my parking space is at the top of the lane. my car has only been washed twice since april so with my recent buy that is battery powered & able get water source from a bucket i .m all set now. :y

General Car Chat / anybody remembers
« on: 27 December 2018, 21:15:33 »
i was having a a conversation with a mate of mine that happens to a small car repair shop. we mention when cars reach about 180k on the clock they are considered to be getting towards the end. both of us said we remembered a lot of old vehicles that had clocked 500,000
mls . the m.ot. put lots in the knackers yard . i owned a pug pickup that had over 380,000. it did chuck out loads of black smoke though.
