Omega General Help / engine oil warning

The engine oil warning comes on the GID every now and again but the oil level on the dipstick is in halfway line. Should the oil level on dipstick reach the top? Or is the sensor faulty?

I was wondering if there was any chance the manufacturer of the double skinned GM exhaust would build us a cat back system if there was enough people buying them? Who made them?

Omega General Help / Damaged door strap/bush

I tried to do the simple job of changing the door bushed and I think I may have damaged the straps inside the door. I put the bush and did the nut and closed there were a couple of 'pops'. I took the bush out and it was broken to bits and now the strap is inside the door and wont come out. Come on people, tell me the worst 

I am gutted and cant believe I messed up such a simple job!

I noticed this cable unplugged while inspecting the brake fluid. I thought it might be the power sounder but that looks like its connected. Is it the kickdown cable?

Omega General Help / 3.2 MPG question

Just a quick one re: mpg, I get 220-240 miles from a full tank. Hardly ever drive it in S mode and havent got a lead foot but 60-70 % of my journey is start/stop town driving and max journey distance is 7 miles.

Does this sound reasonable? I not that bothered about the poor MPG if its due to the type of driving as long as nothing is wrong with the car.

Omega General Help / Is this a power sounder issue?

When I switch off the ignition I get a constant beeping sound which goes away when I pull out the key. Sometimes the beep is accompanied by the "traffic master" lady. I thought it was the power sounder but people here experience 3/4 beeps when the batteries are on the way out.

Really easy one. I have a 2013 (with nav if it makes any difference) and I can't seem to tune radio stations manually using the dial on the right. Nothing happens when I rotate it. I know I'm being a tard so please help a disadvantaged yoof out.

Tried to replace the OE stereo to get the steering wheel functions back but the unit is a real struggle to fit. It wont go in more than halfway. Any tricks/tips to get it in other than brute force?

Secondly the temp sensor was indicating 25 degrees C during the 'big freeze'. How do I replace this? Car is a R reg (mini facelift I think)

Im thinking about putting this back in the car so I can use the steering wheel controls as I listen to the radio most of the time but now and again I listen to my own stuff so wanted to know if this unit has an AUX input so I can plug in my mp3 player?

Mine is in storage somewhere and I thought it'd be easier to ask than to dig it and take a look.

Struggling to fit my CD player in my Omega. There just isnt enough space and too many damn wires. I moved as much of it as I could out of the way but my radio still sticks out.

Omega General Help / Brake squeal

Fitted new discs and pads around a month ago and gentle the first 150 miles and then started normal braking. Noticed they are squealing today and am a bit pissed off by this because they are GM discs and pads.

Can something be done to make it go away ?

Omega General Help / someone has stolen my roof aerial cover!

No idea when it happened, only noticed it now! Why would anyone want to do that? Now the copper/brass aerial is exposed I'm worried that may be next to go. Anyone know where I can get a replacement cover?

Omega General Help / Battery help!

Ordered a battery Saturday from the dealer and picked it up today. Walked nearly a mile with it as car wouldn't start.

Got it home and tried to fit it but its physically too big! Its a 93197903. He told me that is the correct battery for the 3.2 despite me asking twice and even offered my registration. My fault really for not checking.

The original one is a GO GM71-T7. Didnt know what was in there at the time and assumed dealer would know. Why would he give me this? Are the GO batteries not available anymore?

I need to change my battery in the next few days and just had a look at the car pass for the radio code. Is the radio code 4 digits? My car pass isnt showing a code for the CD changer. Is this required?

Omega General Help / Another exhaust thread

So I'm been contemplating buying a GM exhaust to replace the pattern I had fitted two months ago. I want to replace it because its too loud and looks horrible basically. The GM, even with a further 20% off trade club prices is still expensive.

Now I've also been reading about how great Eternal exhausts are and at the price I'm temted to give them a go. Question is if I replace just the backbox will it quieten things down or do I need to replace the whole lot? Are the Eternals now twin wall?

Has anyone got a picture of their car with the Eternal zorst fitted? Want to see how it looks with the short the tail pipes.
