General Car Chat / Tesla dealership streamlining plans...

... appear to be more drastic than first expected...

WestSussexFire crews are dealing with "a significant fire" at the Tesla car dealership building on County Oak Way in #Crawley. Six engines and an Aerial Ladder Platform are at the scene.

Must say, from work it certainly looked impressive.

General Discussion Area / Breaking Brexit News...
« on: 27 February 2019, 11:04:54 »
Donald and Claude have written a poem to TM in the forlorn hope that she will reverse Brexit.

Here it is in full...

Quote
We'll take the train to nowhere
This love is a sacrifice
Our heart ain't big enough babe
For your paradise
Oh darling we're crazy after all these years
Don't throw away our love babe
We're not lonely children
Tomorrow's such a long time
Our dreams are running wild
Oh darling we're crazy after all these years
We gave you all our love for free*
Our tears are full of memories
Give us love, give us all
Baby, catch us when we'll fall tonight.
Bitterblue, Bitterblue
Breaking up is hard to do
Bitterblue you know that we're too
Proud to cry
Bitterblue, Bitterblue
We can't take our eyes off you
And that's no way to say goodbye.
We'll be sailing on a rainbow
If you will change your mind
Don't throw away this love babe
Love is hard to find
Oh darling we're crazy after all these years
Come save a little room babe,
In your heart for us
We can make it better,
Love is a mystery
Oh darling we're crazy after all these years
Oh we sold our heart to you,
We gave you love and heaven, too
Give us love, give us all,
Baby catch us when we'll fall tonight
Bitterblue, Bitterblue
Breaking up is hard to do
Bitterblue you know that we're too
Proud to cry
Bitterblue, Bitterblue
We can't take our eyes off you
And that's no way to say goodbye
And that's no way to say goodbye...
*True, £19 Billion a year isn't exactly free, but it's a small price to pay for a love as deep as ours

General Car Chat / Mercedes W208 Clk wiring Q...
« on: 10 January 2019, 18:17:24 »
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the Parktronic system for the above?

I am planning to fit Parktronic to the Trolley, and have acquired a complete Clk loom for it with ecu and displays,
but trying to identify three wires...

They're as follows:

Pin 6 BlueGrey possible exterior lights via Pin 10 on 21 pin grey plug (rear SAM?).
Pin 27 YellowBlack possibly Diagnostic socket pin 28? Which pin on OBD2 socket?
Pin 28 BlueRed possible reverse lights/gearbox via Pin 3 on 21 pin grey plug (rear SAM?).

I have identified the rest of the loom using a w210 diagram, but struggling with the above due to different pin outs on the ecu and different wire colours.

Also after the Parktronic diagrams for the w168 in order to cross reference to the car, as Haynes doesn't cover it and common points on the diagrams have different wire colours. Only seven connections to the car, including +12v and -12v, so only actually 5 to figure out, but would prefer not to fry something in the process... ::)

Woke up with it yesterday morning, worked last night and almost sweated it out, but it's back for round two...

Couldn't imagine any company that I have worked for doing anything like this... :o

Best Christmas work surprise that I have seen was a signed card from the CEO containing a £25 M+S voucher, a six pack of beer and an early shoot ::)

« on: 08 December 2018, 11:06:02 »
I was going to start with:

'Opinions and arseholes; is it OK to have both? What if you're that person?' :D

Instead I choose this:

Anyone been to see 'A Star is born'? Who else shed a tear at the dog lying down outside the garage door waiting for Jackson Maine to come back out? Is this normal? 🤔

This poll asks what I believe to ultimately be the question facing the House of Commons.

We are leaving the EU in March regardless of whether Parliament is ready or not. Leaving or Remaining is, at this point, irrelevant.

I have set the poll to end at the proposed day of the House of Commons vote on the matter, and the results will become known at that point.

I was originally planning to only give two options, but have added a third to allow for the Backstop being amended, should this happen.

I have asked if possible that the thread be locked to posting in order to keep the discussion on the matter to the current thread on the subject.
