General Discussion Area / The Friday Joke - on a Saturday
« on: 09 December 2006, 11:21:25 »
I was out last night and can't believe there's no Friday joke... so here's one for you all...

An octopus walks into a bar and says "I can play ANY musical instrument you like" An Englishman gives him a guitar, which he plays better than Hendrix. An Irishman gives him a piano which he plays better than Elton. A Scotsman throws him a set of bagpipes.  The octopus fumbles about for a couple of minutes and the Scotsman says "What's wrong - can ye no play it?" The octopus replies "Play it? - I'm gonna opps her brains out once I get her pyjamas off!

What's wrong with my PC?

Previously signed up with AOL but it wouldn't connect properly and they wanted me to pay BT to check the land line as they suspected a fault.  So I packed in first attempt at broadband & stayed on dial up for 6m. Anyway, I got fed up and recently upgraded to Virgin Broadband.

No problems loading drivers, little boxes plugged in all the right places and off we go.  Until about 4pm till 8pm daily, then it flags up ' cannot connect to server, checked modem etc'.  That's why I sign in so late usually, as I reckon it's all the little kiddies coming home from school and jumping on the internet instead of kicking a football around in the fresh air.

Would my theory hold any water if the land lines are unable to cope with all this extra internet traffic? And more importantly can I do anything about it?  :-?

General Discussion Area / Tickover
« on: 23 November 2006, 23:00:03 »
I took a 1.8 Zafira out for a run and noted the MPG at tickover was just 0.1 MPG - My Meega never uses less than 0.3 and sometimes 0.4 MPG.  Is this normal.  Pls have a look at yours tmz.  [smiley=huh.gif]

General Discussion Area / Hire Cars
« on: 20 November 2006, 20:20:17 »
Got to go to Manchester tmz so company hired me a 7 seater to drive us all.

It's just arrived and first impressions look ok.  Black Vx Zafira Design 06 plate.

But then I found the steering controls don't work, it has no cruise, no audio on dash display, it's a 1.8 petrol and not the 1.9cdti I was expecting and to cap it all the rear tyre was sitting at 24psi - all the rest 33/34 which points to a slow puncture. >:(

The good news is that I get to give it back at the end of the day. :)

Anyone else hired worse????
