Subject: FW: Human Resources Manager after death experience

One day while walking down the street a highly successful Human Resources Manager was tragically hit by a bus and she died. Her soul arrived up in heaven where she was met at the Pearly Gates by St. Peter himself.
"Welcome to Heaven," said St. Peter. "Before you get settled in though, it seems we have a problem. You see, strangely enough, we've never once had a Human Resources Manager make it this far and we're not really sure what to do with you."
"No problem, just let me in," said the woman.
"Well, I'd like to, but I have higher orders. What we're going to do is let you have a day in Hell and a day in Heaven and then you can choose whichever one you want to spend an eternity in."
"Actually, I think I've made up my mind, I prefer to stay in Heaven", said the woman.
"Sorry, we have rules..."
And with that St. Peter put the executive in an elevator and it went down-down-down to hell.
The doors opened and she found herself stepping out onto the putting green of a beautiful golf course. In the distance was a country club and standing in front of her were all her friends - fellow executives that she had worked with and they were well dressed in evening gowns and cheering for her. They ran up and kissed her on both cheeks and they talked about old times. They played an excellent round of golf and at night went to the country club where she enjoyed an excellent steak and lobster dinner.
She met the Devil who was actually a really nice guy (kind of cute) and she had a great time telling jokes and dancing. She was having such a good time that before she knew it, it was time to leave. Everybody shook her hand and waved goodbye as she got on the elevator.
The elevator went up-up-up and opened back up at the Pearly Gates and found St. Peter waiting for her.
"Now it's time to spend a day in heaven," he said. So she spent the next 24 hours lounging around on clouds and playing the harp and singing. She had great time and before she knew it her 24 hours were up and St. Peter came and got her.
"So, you've spent a day in hell and you've spent a day in heaven. Now you must choose your eternity,"
The woman paused for a second and then replied, "Well, I never thought I'd say this, I mean, Heaven has been really great and all, but I think I had a better time in Hell."
So St. Peter escorted her to the elevator and again she went down-down-down back to Hell.
When the doors of the elevator opened she found herself standing in a desolate wasteland covered in garbage and filth. She saw her friends were dressed in rags and were picking up the garbage and putting it in sacks.
The Devil came up to her and put his arm around her.
"I don't understand," stammered the woman, "yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and a country club and we ate lobster and we danced and had a great time. Now all there is a wasteland of garbage and all my friends look miserable."
The Devil looked at her smiled and told...

General Discussion Area / A Dad at 50!!
« on: 10 October 2008, 11:39:25 »
No not me!!   ::)

My brothers wife has just given birth to a baby boy. :y It's his second marriage and he didn't have any kids with his first wife. He got married to a younger woman (mid 30's) a couple of years ago and at the ripe "young" age of 50 they now have their first child.

How do you think he will cope? I'm 54 and having brought up 2 sons I don't think I'd have the patience to bring up a kid now. :-/

Thoughts??

I notice on some forums that members profiles show the date they joined the forum. Not particularly important but would be interesting to see how long members have been part of the forum.

General Discussion Area / fuel price war
« on: 19 September 2008, 11:42:42 »
Good news for the motorist for a change. A new fuel price war at the pumps has been kicked off by Morrisons who are reducing the cost of unleaded to £1.08 per litre and other companies are set to follow. :y I bet it still never goes back below the £1 mark though.  >:(

General Discussion Area / Saw Lewis in action yesterday
« on: 01 September 2008, 11:35:19 »
Went to Brands Hatch to see the DTM series (German touring cars) and Lewis Hamilton made an appearance in his Maclaren F1 car. He spent about 20 mins on the circuit showing off his driving skills (which really are fantastic), holding the car on its rev limiter then doing practice starts around various sections of the circuit and blasting the car on a hot lap. At the end of the display he ended up doing doughnuts right in front of where we were sitting then stalled the car, got out and waved to the crowd. Top stuff!! :y :y :y

Unfortunately, no pics as my bl00dy camera battery ran out! :'(

Oh yes,......and the DTM's were superb. :y

General Discussion Area / Snetterton this weekend
« on: 15 August 2008, 13:37:55 »
Wessex Racing's V8 Star Omega is racing at Snetterton this Sunday in the Britcar series 4 hour endurance. Might be a good day out for any members in Norfolk or East Anglia. Snetterton is only about 1.5 hour drive for me so will probably be going.

This is the beast for those that haven't seen it before.

General Discussion Area / Special party "guest".....
« on: 11 August 2008, 12:33:21 »
Went to a friends house warming party and pig roast on Saturday afternoon. We were being shown around the new house when who should we bump into at the top of the stairs but Tim Nice but Dim!! (character from Harry Enfield and Chums). Unknown to all the guests, the hosts had hired an entertainer/impersonater for the day. This guy was absolutely brilliant and had us in stiches playing the characters to a tee. He later came out as Ozzie Osbourne and after that Little Britains' Vicky Pollard. Haven't laughed my socks off so much in ages ;D - what a great tonic for a party especially as the weather was crap. :y :y :y

General Discussion Area / Virus Alert
« on: 25 July 2008, 13:14:30 »
If you receive an e-mail supposedly from UPS regarding a parcel they are unable to deliver with an invoice attachment, or a customs form with an attachment, DELETE it immediately. I had received one on my work e-mail yesterday and coincidentally we were expecting a parcel from France, so I opened it. It wasn't until I switched on my PC this morning that I realised it had loaded a particularly nasty malware virus. You get messages saying that your PC is infected with virus's and tries to get you to go to a bogus website called Antivirus XP 2008, and then wants you to buy the removal tool using your credit card. >:( >:( >:(

This wasn't initially picked up by our Macafee Antivirus software and
it took 2 of our IT guys 3.5 hours to get rid of the bloody thing, so a completely wasted morning. >:( They eventually got rid of it using a software called Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Even then they still had to re-install some files from XP installation disc that had been corrupted.

This is a real BUGGER so please beware.
