a young lady has just rang me , apparently she has put some coolant into the header tank . not too much about 100mls. she realised & hasn't started the car. me not sure if such a small amount will harm I have advise her to drain the header tank . would it do harm?

Omega General Help / tech2 in machester

from tomorrow morning (11am approx. leaving early Monday) I will be in Eccles right opposite the interchange & I could do with a tech2 reading. trying to sus out why the eml stays on solid until I boot it a bit then it goes out & doesn't appear again until I restart the car after its been switched off for a while. please message me if you can assist. its a tdi 2.2. remapped & egr blanked. even when the eml remains on albeit for a short while everything is running fine.

General Discussion Area / laptop issue

having had my laptop turned off for a couple of weeks I now have this problem. whatever page I visit it only covers about 3/4 of the screen with the top 1/4 bank except for a box (about 40 mm square ) in the top left with a duplicate image of the page that is on the main screen . could anybody tell me how to get rid of it please.

after returning to Leeds / Bradford airport at 00.30am sunday morning & retuning to my car that had been left in the long stay car park for 2wks spending about 3/4 hour digging it out of the snow then travelling back to York with no issues other than icy road conditions . the following afternoon I started the car & the eml stayed on as a solid light tho there was no problems in how the car was performing. after about 1/2 mile it went out & has not appeared since. gremlins or what ??

my last mig had a ccr600 with a bose system. my present mig has the same radio but has not got bose amps etc. when the first mig got scrapped I kept the bose system ccr600 radio but nothing else. is this radio no good to me or will it work ok in my present mig that hasn't got a bose system,

General Discussion Area / downsizing shortly

swimbo & I are shortly moving from a 3 bedroom house  into a 1 bed bungalow. ( don't know exact when ) in my garden I have 3 sheds all full of mechanics tools (-upteen boxes ) builders tools & a shed full of gardening stuff. already done. loads of trips to the council tip with bags of stuff , done the charity shops off loading clothes. games books etc. i even have bought a 7" x 3.5ft"  trailer to help move.  stuff, as my wife has told me all the white goods & small electric appliances are going to be new. carpets new . it looks like all we are moving with is some living room furniture & tellies a bed + a few boxes of stuff. looking forward to it

for a few months now the battery on my mig has let me down on a few occasions but I have always managed to jump start it.. so within minutes its turned over. ecp are having  w/end 30% off sale. so picked up a 70 amp for £55 with a three year warranty. me thinks not bad.    hope I can find my radio code.

have just got received next years schedule for the mig & its doubled. been on the phone arguing the toss & asking how with they justified the increase when I have never had a claim. I actually spoke to a guy that I found his accent made it hard for me to understand him. anyway the outcome the policy hasn't changed & I got it reduced to a 10% rise. its £200 less than what they initially quoted without even losing any benefits.

I needed to send my birth & marriage certificate to an insurance company so I ordered copies for me to pick up a couple of hours later. when I arrived at the registrars office & within in minutes it became obvious they wasn't ready. the excuse was the person that had been doing them was on a break. anyway in a way of apology they handed me hand scripted copies  (instead of type written ) thanking me for my patience. then she said I hope your father will appreciate them . I said they are mine my dad died 34 yrs ago.

car has not been used for 3days & today the battery wouldn't turn the engine, a spare battery I have which has not been used for nearly a year but to my surprise was holding a 12.8 charge started my mig using jump leads, no bother. could it be that unwittingly I am using power hence draining the battery. I tend to leave front screen heater & also the radio switched on. I presume they don't use power when the ignition is off. am I right. ?

i got one of the biggest shocks of my life this afternoon regards renewing a fuel filter on my dti  when all back together it started first turn of the key. no bleeding .

 I have just had a call from a mobile No telling me that the H.M.R.C are suing me for tax owed. the call told me to press 1 to speak to whomever . I suspect an attempt of a scam.
