Omega General Help / Replacing Rocker Cover Gaskets

I've got the rocker cover leak on my 2.5 V6 and wondered what the worst case scenario would be if nothing was done. I paid £300 for my car and dont really want to spend the same amount on this problem.

The alternative is DIY. I've been reading the maintenance guides and wanted to ask if anyone with limited knowledge and skills has succesfully carried out this task.

What would you rate it out of ten in terms of difficulty?

Thanks to Welung who picked me up from the station to view the car together, gave it a once over and a test drive before I bought it and then changed the cambelt in the freezing cold.

Can someone please recommend me a leather cleaner or polish or buffer as the pale grey interior is a bit...well pale and needs a lift.

General Car Chat / How to prevent rust?

Well I'm still carless but thinking ahead.

So Omegas are prone to rust so how does one keep it it tip top shape? Is washing at local hand carwash once a month good enough? I don't have the facilities (nor the motivation  ) to wash at home. Is waxing necessary? What products to use etc.

I'm after either of these car and whilst I'm aware of the kit that comes with the Elite models, I'm totally unaware of what the spec list of the MV6.

Are they a 'hot' version of the Omega?

Drove ~200 miles to change my cam cover gaskets and a service. Sorted all that for a very reasonable price too and took care of a few other niggles for free!

His Omega knowledge is spot on, noticed odd little bits that were piped up incorrectly or damaged so if anyone needs anything done he comes highly recommend from me.

Nice one mate. I'll let you know if it goes quicker now!

Been out today in fresh snow and ice and the car behaved very well. However when the ABS kicks in, it feels odd like the pedal will snap. Is this normal?

I just came back from VX with a 65Ah battery and for some reason I get the feeling it not the right one. The guy assured me this was the correct one. Searched here and found one post which said it is 70Ah.

By the way I went by bus and half mile walk on ice holding a battery isnt easy !

General Discussion Area / Leather cleaning help

Received my Gliptone cleaner and conditioner today. Tried it on my sofa (which is very filthy  ) and didnt have the effect I thought it would.

I wiped my sofa with a hot towel and put a blob of the cleaner on the sofa and worked it in gently with a nail brush. I noticed it didnt foam as much some pictures on google suggested. While I was scrubbing (gently) the leather was shedding some skin so to speak. Is this normal?

Advice and tips appreciated.
