Tis my birthday next week and swmbo says I have to go shopping tomorrow and I have no idea what I want...I bought a new battery drill last week, and a saw and a garden mulcher..... ::) ::)

To be honest I have no idea what I want, I have all the tools and equipment I am likely to need and some that will never be used due to changing personal circumstances......

I don't want a sat nav.... :y :y

Any thoughts on something different?............ :D :D

Swmbo is on holiday and the Jeep needs a service and MOT and it keeps telling me so with bleeps and messages... ::) ::) Anyway that means that I have the Omega for the next 2 days and she can do some housework as she is grounded........... :y :y :y

It is so much faster and smoother than the Jeep, which I do love for other reasons, and is a 'keeper' given the list of work I have left with the garage (trusted local independent)..... :D :D

She picked me up from the garage tonight and I noticed a full tank of petrol in the Mig, I am constantly complaining that she runs it on 1/4 tank or even less, I start to think about filling up when it gets to 1/2....... ::) ::) ::)

General Discussion Area / We seem to have missed the weather
« on: 28 June 2012, 22:26:45 »
News and work on face book speaks of horrendous weather in the area, floods and schools closed.... ??? :o ???

Swmbo and myself went out for a late lunch near Durham and noticed North of us some very bleak looking weather, came home 10 mile south and all we heard was a little thunder and a short heavy shower....luck us it seems....... :y :y

On a school trip to Wimbledon, she is leaving at 4.00am in the morning and then back late Friday..... :y :y

Now then, is it worth going to bed when I have to get up at 2.30am? got the day off so no problems there..... :) :)

General Discussion Area / Moving offices again.......
« on: 23 June 2012, 01:09:01 »
We have just moved into some lovely new offices, a couple of months ago and today we got the new phones in, hugely expensive and you have to put in the local code even to phone a local number :( :( all spanking new refurbished by the NHS, no expense spared....tis a long story but I can not express my disgust at the expense spent..... >:( >:( >:(

To be told that in September we are moving again to a 60's multi story office block that can only be described as depressing having visited today, funnily enough 10 years ago I was in this building, seemed OK then ::) ::)

Point I want to make is the NHS waste so much money it should be a criminal offence, you would not believe it.... :-X  I don't work for the NHS, from a personal point of view I have received excellent health care, from a professional point of view their community services should be looked, cost wise, robustly...... :-X :-X

We had arranged to meet this evening for our swmbo / fathers day meal out as other things got in the way on Sunday. Swmbo and Miss Vamps and I met after work to go to a Chinese eat what you can buffet type of place, somewhere we have been many times before, Miss Vamps likes the seaweed... ::) ::)

It was closed.... ::) ::)

So Plan B, a pub near to where we live, next village, lovely food but bill was near on £45.00  for 3 of us including 3 soft drinks:o :o :o

I will not go into any detail, but in connection to my work I have had cause to view some facebook comments tonight, (an unprotected account) they alone provide the majority of the evidence that will be needed in a forthcoming Court case..... :-X

I often speak to people about posting, and that something could come back and haunt you in the future, and these days that may mean years in the future...... :)

Was that clear enough?

Went to see the torch today, only a couple of minutes away and dry.. :y :y

I have never seen so many people in this village, not obvious from the pictures as we were in the 'Cheap Seats' according to banter from the Police Bikers who put on a great show entertaining us whilst waiting, many were from the Met, thought there were too many bikes for Durham. Cheap seats or not we got a better view than the huge crowds in the middle of the village... :D :D

At a do today there was a small collection of classic cars, one of them was a 1950's Cadillac estate, no owner present..
This car had what I could only describe as short aerials, (Sensors?) about 8 inches long, on the passenger side, either end of the sill and about a 45 degree angle sticking out from the car, near each wheel arches, but nothing on the drivers side, LHD. Any idea what they might have been????
