Omega General Help / Rod for Head Lamp Leveling Sensor 9117095
« on: 24 October 2021, 15:32:31 »
Looking for this rod, is it available somewhere else..., seems expensive. My present one is almost repairable.

This is quite strange for me. Now checked all eight track rod ends, new tires balanced twice, rims and tires do not have axial or radial swing. It starts somewhere 60 km/h and continues up to 130km/h (not possible to go higher speeds legally). Gear box and engine mounting rubbers ok. If I put N (autobox) in 130km/h and engine idling does not change situation. I feel this slight vibration everywhere in the car. Is prop rubber joints and the "holder bearing" in the center part. Please help.

My old topic where both DG and dave the builder informed where to find this slot for locking crank (between Dec. 14-16 2021). Dave even enclosed the picture but this is picture disappeared from the topic.

I cannot find the slot in the bloc. I was lookin for it around oil filter area and around lower engine mount area but cannot find it. Do I have to go under the car or can I see from above. What is the direction to put the locking tool in? Is it the direction from the water pump end to clutch end or from front to back. Strange to be that blind. Could you help, should start the job on Friday and be ready on Saturday (same week).

Omega General Help / Vibrating in Higher Speed
« on: 30 June 2021, 18:18:40 »
High speed in Finland means 120km/hour = about 75MPH. When driving that speed my Omega vibrates slightly - in a way it did not do earlier. It is quite seldom I ride such roads where this 120km/h is possible. It is not coming from wheels I think as if coming from front I should notice it in steering wheel. And if coming from rear I usually see it also in my AR25 selector. I saw it in the "sun visor" going up and down as it was not locked in mirror side and I felt it in my arse. Cardan shaft? What it can be? 300 000 km behind so almost new...

Omega General Help / AR-25 "Function" with Y26SE
« on: 15 May 2021, 14:44:54 »
No problems but just asking what's really happening; when driving with cruise normal speed here in Finland which is 80kmh = 50Mph I have fourth gear on and TC locked, engine is running 2000rpm. When starting to climb a hill engine rpm goes to 3400 first for a couple of seconds and then drops suddenly to 2800 and after a hill when back to "flatland" rpm drops again to 2000. If this 3400 is gear No. three why it changes first there. I face this phenomenon specially when towing my 950kg mobile home as usually normal hills are so low that nothing happens, 2.6 V6 is strong enough to go up with fourth gear and TC locked.

Omega General Help / Caravan Mass
« on: 26 March 2021, 07:39:01 »
What is technically the difference of 2.5/2.6 or 3.2/2.6 as both 2.5 and 3.2 have higher allowable mass of a mobile home with brakes (left column), brakes might be same and 2.6 has more power than 2.5. Difficult to understand. Would like to increase in my 2.6 it to 1850kg.

General Discussion Area / Too Cheap Meter
« on: 24 March 2021, 17:43:52 »

Is this something I do not understand as others sell this same meter >100 euro? I am looking for a good clamp meter and reasonable price but this is strange, what's wrong with me?

General Car Chat / Scrap cat prices
« on: 26 February 2021, 16:20:12 »
Heard they steal cats from old cars nowadays. Are original 2.6 worth something, do I have to be worried ha ha. Perhaps cats are 90% of the car value? This is really what I read from newspapers. They jack the car up and use quick saws and disappear...

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Day Light Relay Legs
« on: 09 February 2021, 14:45:46 »
Hello, found my old broken day light relay and opened it just for fun. Quite simple, two relays + some passive components. When taking a closer look in back side I see one soldering which is remelted. It has even "carbon black" close to it, coming from Leg No.8 - the bigger relay. Perhaps bad (cold) soldering which has heated too much or bad contact in contact bits creating heat. Contact bits seem to be clean and move easily. Car is OK as new relay worked since I changed it e.g. 5 years ago. Does anybody know where this leg No. eight is going or is the diagram of this relay function available. Just want to learn about it more...

Hello, so Omega stands quite much in garage presently, used it last time during Christmas. I checked today that I still could open the doors with remote. I would like to keep it double locked so battery connected but can I now and then charge it with CTEK MXS 5.0 without disconnecting the battery?

Omega General Help / Sills and...
« on: 28 October 2020, 17:38:07 »
So my turn to report about corrosion; MOT not passed due to sills, corroded under those plastic covers which does not worry me but in right side behind the sill where the "arc block" starts and where the inner part of inner wing should be welded is corroded, too. Now have to think whether worth repairing... others OK

General Car Chat / Insignia 1.5 Petrol & Skoda 1.5 TSI Petrol
« on: 26 October 2020, 09:08:15 »
Looking for 2-3 years old petrol car, got good offer of 2017 Insignia 1.5 litres petrol engine 60 000 km behind and another offer of Skoda 1.5 TSI 2019 (petrol as well). More interested in Insignia so far. Any experience of these engines and cars, too. Looked a bit internet and found interesting writings about this Skoda engine (not very nice).

Hello, help needed again. So, 2001, saloon with xenons and daylight automation. My xenon lights should always go on when I start the engine. Nowadays - now and then only the left side goes on, thus right one is missing. Due to this I changed both xenon bulbs a week ago. It did not help.

1. In case right one is missing when I then turn the lights on from the dash button and engine still sunning both bulbs work (I have tested just a couple of times).
2. In case right one is missing when I stop the engine and start it again without touching the button in dash both bulbs work (I have tested just a couple of times).

I changed the daylight automation relay perhaps 7 years ago as it was totally broken. So I know where it is and can test it if needed.

Now question is how to continue, does this daylight relay fire both together or "separately". Do this car have separate light relays in relay box? Or should I start to think about this "transformer unit" is it a right word. Please help.
