£50 fine  :-? :-? :-?
That'll teach him! Not repentant at all!!!! I wonder how an act like that would go down when he 'goes back home'?
HTF is a paltry fine like this a deterrent? £5000 would have been more like it.

Talk about kicking people when they most need help!

(Assuming things have got that bad people feel that a loan shark is the only place left to borrow money from.)

I'm no football supporter and besides the supporters of anyone but (Man) Utd ....... Kenny Dalglish isn't getting off to a good start. 1 nill down in the opening minutes & Gerard sent off.

 ..... Chaytor

He was my local MP, and the only time we ever need his help was over getting our daughter in our choice of school - the same as her older brother. He was initially full of promises but then actually hampered our case cos it went against the party line.
He was in it for only himself, and am delighted at the result. Apparently he could be out by May though.

...... can be so handy. SWMBO shouted me to say that her washing machine had broken. It was showing a fault P-05, a quick Google suggested it was a 'blocked filter'. As the washer lives in the garage I wondered if the cold might have something to do with it, delving behind it I could feel that the waste discharge pipe was solid. A quick defrost with the heat gun & sorted.  :y :y :y

General Discussion Area / tipping (at a restaurant)
« on: 18 December 2010, 19:17:09 »
My daughter works at a local Pizza Express. There was a party of 50 in there last night which I would think would require a fair bit of effort to keep them topped up with drinks etc, so at the end of their meal, the bill came to over £1000 - not too difficult to get that much, around £20 each. The party of middle aged women then ask for the service charge  to be remove which often happens & is perfectly acceptable, no gripe there, in general the girls prefer it cos they're more likely to be tipped cos it won't then be going through the till.
The tip they then left was .....................

the equivalent of 10p each!
A miserable £5 from a table/group of 50

and no, it wasn't my daughter that waited on the table.
