As the title says, this is a site for Dagenham Dustbin owners, and one of them gives a very professional review on the differences, very interesting, and honest. A few things were dubious, like "Exhaust Emissions indicator and an Engine Immobiliser indicator", but otherwise a very interesting read.

General Car Chat / EPC Help required please.
« on: 17 July 2009, 22:27:15 »
If anyone has their EPC handy, I would like a number looking up please. A mate of mine has some mats marked Meriva, with the Vx number 93174490, he is sure they are Meriva ones but they are a different shape to those advertised on ebay. I just need someoone to confirm or deny. My old EPC does not cover the Meriva so I am struggling. Thanks.

General Car Chat / Vauxhall Stupid prices again!!
« on: 26 June 2009, 11:30:32 »
Just rang up my local friendly Vx dealer, to enquire about a tiny little ruber gaitor that sits between the floating front calipers. Can't buy just the gaitor, of course!! You have to buy the 'kit' which is the gairor, a screw, and a sachet of grease the size of a full stop  ::)

And what is the charge for this tiny little rubber gaitor, screw i dont need, and spot of grease (got a granville tin the size of a small house, so not really in need of grease!)

£11!! I'm sure that many may think 'oh, its only £11 quid, what you moaning at?' But honestly when you can buy two genuine vauxhall clear-type side repeaters for £8, or an oil filter for a quid, I just think that's a tad silly. And I've got both sides to do, so ts really £22  :(

I would like to know if any of these companies that buy up old Vauxhall/Opel stock (of which i know little of, only the very good GM6 spares comes to mind) have such items?

I'm sure they would charge the 60p that you would reasonably expect to pay. (the slotted metal plates that hold steel/flexi brake lines in place inside the wheelarch, for example, cost around this.

Please don't think I'm moaning, I find alot of Vx parts very reasonable, especially at trade club prices, but I've paid £11 for calipers before!  :y

General Discussion Area / Happy Trafalgar Day!
« on: 21 October 2009, 20:22:07 »
21st October 1805, Battle of Trafalgar, when the rest of the World was taught not to mess with the Royal Navy. Nobody dared take them on until 1914 - now THAT is a deterrent!
I would celebrate the day, but of course that would not be PC.  ::)

General Discussion Area / Different look.
« on: 20 May 2009, 16:00:06 »
I have just taken my mirrors off for a refurb, put some others on as a temp measure.  I sort of like the look, but after a day or so it may be too "Chavvy". I would appreciate any opinions - no matter how good, or bad. Fill your boots!  :y ::) :-X :-/ :o >:( :D ;) :-/ :'( :)

The Champagne Mirrors will be off soon, and will be on sale, I would also appreciate an idea of a fair price. I could put them on ebay but wanted to make sure they weren't need on here first.

Sorry, I have just seen the size of the pics, plenty big enough I know. :-/
