Omega General Help / HID Bulbs

Had 2 sets of these from e-bay £30 a pair and each it one or both would not fire up when fitted. .

Had a check with vaux theres is £170 each . called LMF and  they have a set of Osram HID Ds2 4500k i think. Do you think these would be  better and  have more chance to work.

The e-bay ones have been sent back for refund.

Just thinking after my drive that i remember hear somewhere that the Elite have heated jet washer for the screen and lights is that right :question.

And if so are they on heat all the time or do you have to have the rear screen heater on.

Omega General Help / Facelifts

I can not recall but i think on my old elite you pressed the lock button 2 times to set the dead locks. On my facelift it,s just one press and if i do it a 2nd time nothing happens . Is that right  :question  can not see  much to tell me in the manual.

Omega General Help / Stainless Steel Exhust part 2

Having had a Stainless steel backbox fitted back in August last year as the one on was past its best. Today went to a place in Birmingham called Tip Top to have the rest done now that i had the funds.

They have done a great job  fitted it in around 2 1/2 hours and used T304 steel from the cats back to the backbox. They also moved the the 2nd set of pre cat 02 sensors back to after the main cats. The cost was £250 and looks and sound good   .

The sound when driving is about the same as befor which is what i was looking for. When you come out the sound is a nice low down note . And over 4k its got a very nice growl. The system has help as it seem to rev quicker and easier, also the MPG seem better on a run that last time gave me 28mpg now i have 31mpg and that was with a few sport mode runs.

All in all very happy and would highly recommend them to anyone. .

Also so far no emmision light

Omega General Help / New rear Disk and Pads

Need to get a new set for the rear do i use just GM ones or does it not make a diff, had a check with Euro parts looking at £105 for disk and pads Any good  :question or can someone recomend anywhere.

On my car i have 235-45-17 just to check if you can put wider tyres on to the standard rims on the facelift elite wheels, Hope that makes sence if so how much more

Omega General Help / Air Con service

I know its not much the time to think about the A/C as the temp in Leicester has not been about 4c for the past few weeks i think, But with it being a boiling 10c and not having it serviced for a few years took it to a place in Leicester to have it all done.

When they checked it was low on gas no leaks as had the dye added last time. The nice thing now is that .
1 The car is a lot easer to keep a nice temp
2 The fans are a lot quiter than before as if they dont have to work as hard to get the right temp and keep it.
3 No more misting at all in the car.

All in all very happy with the outcome and will save having to get it done in summer. Also had them put in new dye for leak detection.

One more job down .

Omega General Help / Misting up

Can i just check with you lot . A few weeks ago cleaned out the scuttle drain have a lot of water in it . All cleaned out and fine . Pollen filter looked ok.

Now with the sub -2 today the car was missing up as to cold for the AC to kick it. I then put on the recuralion seting and it cleared up fine.

Is this what you are ment to do . I will be picking up a new pollen filter just incase the old one is not working with it having the water there a few weeks ago.

Omega General Help / Where is the Output speed sensor unit

When checking codes last night on a maxscan 380 had a code that i have not see before with a P next to it 0170 i think. Had a check and Output  sensor, where would it be as not had any runing prob since doing the rocker covers and oil cooler .
