General Car Chat / Cambelt kit. Just checking...
« on: 26 May 2020, 13:53:38 »
Will this fit my 3.2 ok, with the possibility of retaining the old backplate the only complication ?
Tia.

As above, a documentary on Lauda from the late 70,s. Very interesting so far. I remember watching it first time around. I believe I was still just about in my teens.

General Discussion Area / Vettel leaving Ferrari.
« on: 12 May 2020, 17:00:09 »
He is out at the end of the 2020 season, if there is a season. Apparently Ferrari were only prepared to offer him a one year deal which he wouldn't accept.
Hard to see where he can go unless Hamilton fancies swapping seats, which would be a crazy thing for him to do imo.
Other than retirement, McLaren might be his best option ?

Unlikely I know, but no harm in asking. Anyone got a pair of S/L rear shocks in half decent condition they want to sell ?
If so, please let me know.

General Car Chat / One for the Diesel experts.
« on: 14 December 2019, 18:44:37 »
As Ive mentioned elsewhere Airfix 1 (aka clit 1.5 dci) is giving me trouble. It is very difficult to start and sometimes wont start at all. Fault code is low fuel pressure. Ive done some investigation and the main piece of evidence so far has been revealed by testing the amount of fuel coming from each leak off pipe.
With the engine running for a minute or two a small amount of fuel comes from three of the pipes which I have extended for the test, and collects in containers. The fourth one had a lot of fuel coming from the pipe and collected about twenty times more fuel than the other three combined.
To me, this suggests that injector may be stuck closed / inoperative so no fuel is being used by it.
Ive collected the fuel from the filter and it had a small amount of what looked like dirt in it, but didn't appear to be metallic, which is one piece of good news I hope.
Any opinions guys ?
Tia.

General Discussion Area / Hamiltons number 44 - Vauxhall.
« on: 02 December 2019, 16:41:37 »
Watched a great interview yesterday, where Hamilton was interviewed by a 10 year old boy. He asked why he always has number 44 as his race number.
Hamilton told him that years ago his Dad had a Vauxhall Cavalier with number 44 in the registration number, so his Dad chose that as his race number and he has stuck with it ever since.
Who,d have thunk it ?

General Car Chat / Is a Vauxhall a Fiat a Peugeot or a Chrysler ?
« on: 31 October 2019, 13:49:10 »
Peugeot who own Vauxhall have announced they are to merge with Fiat Chrysler. So the next generation Corsa will probably be a Punto with a griffin badge stuck on each end.
It aint like the good old days, that's for sure.

His much bullied staff will no doubt be breathing a sigh of relief. Sally might find it more difficult to find the time to shag members of his family when hes at work from now on though.
I detest the little poison dwarf, in case it wasn't obvious.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Reversing sensors stopped working.

As above, don't even get the initial beep when put it in reverse. Where to start - do they have their own fuse near the rear somewhere ?

MS has been pestering me to install a Windows 10 update for a while, so last night I did. It took ages to install, so presumably a big update.
Since then, I cant access smileys on this or any other forum I use. I click on them but nothing happens.
Anyone know why ?
