Omega General Help / car wont start, is it the crank sensor?

i parked the car up at night, went to drive to work in the morning and the car is just turning over and over

at first i thought i could smell fuel while cranking the engine...but i loosened a spark plug (finger tight) and cranked the engine for a good 15-20 seconds and quickly whipped out the plug and it was dry as a bone

also i have no spark.

so what do you think?

crankshaft sensor or ecu? or maybe something else?

normally crankshaft sensors are a fairly hardy and simple bit of kit which never really tends to go wrong

also i unscrewed the sensor, and i cant find where the hell it plugs into, the wire is covered in heat proofing and ran up behind the blooming oil cooler pipes so i cant even wiggle the wire so someone else can grab it!

Omega General Help / need help understanding the 2.5 engine

Right a few things....

What is the multi ram all about, what does it do and why is it needed? Other cars that sport the engine don't have this?

Second is why does it have two throttles and not just one, like on the calibra and vectra?

Also I have a split hose, on the back of the intake there are four hoses making their way onto the 'ecotec' cover well the third hose from the left is split I have fixed it now but what are these breather hoses for? Or where do they lead, would this lead to loss in power?

I will probably have more questions as soon as these have been answered lol

Omega General Help / a bodgetastic idea for my back box, take it off :D

as you can not buy aftermarket rear exhaust cans for the 2.5 i was thinking of taking off the backbox and extending both exhaust pipes right out the back of the car with a couple of bolt on tail pipes to make it look tidy

anyone ever done this?

or another idea i had was to find two small single back boxes and fit them to each pipe

i am a little scared of the first idea as i think it may be a little loud, has anyone ever started their car without a backbox on it? how loud is it?

Omega General Help / correct lowering spring for my model?

searching ebay and found a set of 40mm lowering springs, i just want conformation as to wether these will fit my x plate 2.5 saloon?

i tried to contact the seller but it said something about them being to busy and would not let me "ask the seller a question"

i own a calibra c20xe atm, and i want something bigger (five seats)...but i dont want to miss my cally, which omega is as fast as the xe, while keeping the same sort of mpg and car tax rate?

i know there are plenty of omega's that are faster than the xe calibra, but i want one on par..?

when i test drove it i was a little dissapointed, but i picked it up today, turned off the TC pressed the sport button stuck it in first and she ripped!

im very impressed considering the weight of the car 





it needs lowering though, with some smaller rubber

i dont want "better fuel consumption" or a "flattened torque curve"

if i wanted either of these things i would have bought a diesel corsa

someone on this site must have removed theirs at some point, how did you do it?

i want to hear, why i should leave the multirams alone, and i want to hear other reasons why i should rip out/bypass the whole thing

i have been searching everywhere online and i cant find anything other than std, i like the std sound but i just dont like the look of it, it looks like a mini moto exhaust

seems a little odd the the car has TC when you cant spin the wheels anyway...its a little over kill having the snow mode button and TC on a automatic
