Omega General Help / V6 oil leak
« on: 23 November 2008, 14:09:39 »
Not been on for a while as I no longer own my Omega.

A mate of mine owns a 2.6 Omega and he thinks that his oil system is over pressurising as his cam covers are leaking, is there anything obvious that he can check

« on: 26 May 2008, 13:36:02 »
I can't start a topic in the wanted section, I'm after the relay that controls the wipers must be the one that is used with the interval adjustment and be for rear wipe

Omega General Help / Autobox/heater probs
« on: 25 February 2007, 14:15:29 »
Well after the long day at the V6 party, started my short drive home from Max's house and had a couple of problems.

1. Autobox not kicking down and gear change was happening very low down the rev range even on full throttle would only change around 3000 rpm sport mode made no difference. Then got a message on MID display saying check autobox. so I limoed the car home doing no more than 50 and 2000rpm. Tried the car this morning and seemed ok no message and kickdown etc.. working checked the fluid level and all appears ok. So not sure what happemed last night, fault should be stored in the ECU so will have to get it read fairly soon.

2. Temp guage never got above 92 and heating was not as warm even when set to high. Once again checked car this morn, car runs upto temp ok and fan kicks in around 95 but heater still not very warm checked heater matrix pipes and these were both hot and water level was all ok, I think I might have an airlock but not sure, Ive squeesed as much air out when i refilled the system.

Has anyone got anything else I cancheck on either of the above probems
Thanks in advance

Omega General Help / Omega mods
« on: 10 February 2007, 18:59:39 »
I'm looking for some mods to do to my 3.0(auto) Omega, suspension, preformance really, maybe some styling mods.

I know most say that reaaly its not a preformance car but built for luxury, but I would like to do something to the suspension which i think is a built soggy.

I'm looking at a stainless steel exhaustv from cat back with removing the centre silencer and opting for dual silencers at the rear with the exits being on each side of the bumper.

Any views appreciated

Omega General Help / Major water loss
« on: 17 February 2007, 17:17:50 »
Well went out to the barge today for a quick trip to Halfords in Swindon. Went to car turned key flat battery, jump started from wifes Astra. Got to halfords didn't have what I was after so started to return home. On pulling onto the A419 dual carriageway put my foot down to get past some slower cars only to look in my rear view mirror to see nothing but white smoke everywhere. The temp gauge read normwl and the car didn't cough os splutter so don't think its a head gasket. Pulled over in local industrial estate smoke still everywhere lifted bonnet to be met by more white smoke and an empty expansion tank. Soon after this a pool of hot water was forming under the car. The leak looks like its coming from the right rear of the engine(rear wheel drive so would be front right on front wheel drive). Had to catch a bus back home to collect the wifes Astra to tow the poor old barge back home.

Will be doing some diagnostic work on it tomorrow, hopefully just a burst hose.

Omega General Help / Heated seats in an Elite
« on: 25 January 2007, 18:52:19 »
During the recent cold mornings I've tried to warm my front seats up prior to going to work, I usually start the car about 10mins before leaving for work and i also switch on the drivers heated seat, but when getting into the car the seat is still cold.

I've heard that the elements are prone to going on these cars, do you need to be sitting in the seat for the heater to work, the telltale light comes on on the dash, I've not carried out any checks yet as its always dark by the time I get home. If it is the elements are they easy to change?

Any help would be appreciated.

« on: 22 February 2007, 22:35:33 »
Just been browsing on Ebay and i came across a switch for the rear door blower motors. This is the switch in question.

Does anyone have these items fitted to their car if so are they any good and where does the switch sit. Also is it possible to retro fit them to cars without them.

The Haynes manual wiring diagram shows the wiring.

Any help or ideas
