Omega Electrical and Audio Help / NCDC 2013 Bose problem
« on: 21 August 2016, 23:07:38 »
I've tried looking up this problem in search, but nothing close.

My MV6 has been parked up for a while and as I have recently completely stripped a CDX I've been working on the list of repairs.

The latest one I'm stuck on is the Stereo, it has for some time developed a fault. Once the stereo is turned on,  it works for 5 seconds then a loud blip, then stereo goes off.... back on and the process repeats.

It sounds worse from the drivers side speaker,  so I removed the door panel and the speaker, but the same fault.
This was repeated on all four doors and disconnected the parcel shelf speakers, still the same fault.

I have checked the aerial connections .
Removed the amp to see if had rusted terminals.
Changed over the signal booster.
Checked the aerial connections from the roof and the drivers side kick panel.
Removed stereo to check connections.
Replaced the speakers for testing,  as a last resort.

Still have the same fault  :'(

Any other suggestions?  Please.   :-\

General Car Chat / I made my choice.
« on: 14 August 2016, 23:16:12 »
I made my choice  ::) The CDX has now been stripped and I must admit when I first started I made a list of parts that I would need or thought I'd need to bring the MV6 back to road status. ..... then I got carried away  :D

This weekend I have removed the headlining to exchange the rusted sunroof on the MV6.

Which is best?

Between the Omega B1 MV6 Saloon Auto or the B2 MV6 Saloon Manual?

So, Two parts to this enquiry,   MV6 B1 or B2? ..... Auto or Manual?

Which combination would you prefer.  :D

General Car Chat / M.O.T Passed!!!
« on: 22 February 2016, 22:58:12 »
Some of you may remember this Omega I bought for spares with two months M.O.T, So we thought we'd tax it and I could strip the parts needed for my 3.0 MV6 at the end of February.

My wife has enjoyed driving with an automatic that I was asked to put it through the M.O.T ( just to see how bad it was) so without looking at it at all I took it in..... and it passed!!!!  :o

There was an advisory on the n/s/r brake pipe starting to corrode, the exhaust (apart from being loud) had a slight leak where the rear exhaust had be welded and the usual uneven wear on the front tyres.

General Car Chat / Not bad for Spares!
« on: 08 December 2015, 22:56:59 »
Originally bought for spares, but as it still got MOT (until March) I've taxed it for the wife to use. 😆

General Car Chat / Recommissioning MV6 3.0 Elite after 2 Years!
« on: 14 September 2015, 23:56:50 »
May the check List Begin......

Since November 2013 my Omega has been sitting waiting patiently to be recommissioned, but as my previous job included a van, so there was no need to keep her on the road.  :'(

At lease once a month I'd connect the battery and fire her up and she'd always sound perfect, which made it more difficult for me to consider selling.
Early in the new year on another start up two things was noticeable, the exhaust was louder and the engine was running on 5.  :(

THEN a few months ago I was made redundant, which meant my Omega was now in line to be sold.  :-[

Just after being made redundant I made the sacrifice and asked a mechanic to prep her for the M.O.T and £60 later........ I'll need to buy a coil pack, 4 new tyres, a complete rear exhaust and an estimate of £560. This was 8 weeks ago.

I've managed to survive and not to sell my Omega just yet & now today I've just started a new Job  :D

I'm now in negotiations with the wife if we could put the Omega back on the road, the question I cannot answer is that after nearly two years off the road what else could go wrong?

My list so Far (which I can achieve myself) :-

Replace the Coil Pack.
Replace the Rocker cover Gaskets (they are leaking).
Fit new or 2nd hand exhaust.
New Tyres (recommendations?)
Both the remotes don't work.
The air bag light is on (The fault is the front passenger seat heater was left on)

I've got a 'W' Plate Star Silver Saloon, 3.0 MV6 Elite.

Anything else I should consider, whilst achieving these jobs?

General Car Chat / My Apologies!
« on: 26 March 2013, 22:01:33 »
My Apologies for my previous post.... yes I was seing how much the car is worth but its 13 years old and have probably spent on it more than its worth.

With all my cheeky faces I was hoping to have a bit of fun, and to prove to my wife that the car is NOT worth selling.

Sorry it read differently..... My apologies  :-[

General Car Chat / How Much :-(
« on: 26 March 2013, 21:34:53 »
Unfortunatley (for me) I may have to consider putting up my car on Ebay  :'( :'(

Everyone is under alot of stress these days; especially the firm who owns my small unit (they're not doing too well), which means I have to pay my rent arrears  :-\ asap they have even blocked my unit so I'm unable to use it.
I have alot of industrial racking to sell as I've created more space within the unit but the excess racking is WITHIN the unit.

So the dilema is I either wait several months to pay off the arrears or sell my beloved Omega  :-[

Unless my vehicle is not worth much  ::) i might be able to keep it  ::) eventhough it cost me £40 a week in fuel.

Thankfully the ABS worked  :y especially as I'd only replaced all the pads recently.
