Omega General Help / omega not starting
« on: 24 July 2016, 15:34:59 »
So have it sat in garage nearly 5 months for some maintanance and got it reassembled yesterday. Didn't fire up. Main suspect is startermotor, silent as a dead sparrow, and i had some problems with it in the winter as it froze up a few times. Where's the relay/fuse for startermotor?

But i also have a weird buzzing noise from abs ecu for a few sec as i turn ignition on. Haven't heard this before...

It's not battery fault as battery is good and i also tested directly from a booster.

All comments and ideas are welcome, especially about the buzzing abs ecu.

Oh, and battery was disconnected when i put her in garage.

Hi,

How essential is the rubber flap in the box and what's the purpose of it in the first place? Problem is the bloody dingi broke off as I was cleaning the box :'( And if it is a absolutely needed thing is it available somewhere, stealers? Part number?

So the old broom >:( has developed jet another fault. Radio, CID, climate panel and fuel gauge go dead occasionaly. So have to switch ignition off, then re-start the car and it works. Fuse(s) are correct size and ok. Where to look, any ideas?
I had the ignition switch connector\plug changed recently, can it be linked?

Omega General Help / Fuel consumption
« on: 02 December 2015, 17:24:05 »
So looking for second opinion. Now as I've had the second miggy for a while i've noticed that the new 2,5v6 manual fuelconsumption is a bit bigger than in the 3,0v6 auto. The difference is biggest when engine is cold. Is it normal or should i check/fix something?

Cheers,
Martin

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / NCDC2013
« on: 30 October 2015, 17:00:57 »
So I turn to you wise men with an ohter probleem.
Got some smoke out of my HU and now it can't find any radiostations nor produce any sound and the steering buttons does not work(dosen't even lit up). Took it apart and it looks like melted area behind the front panel plug. Nothing has exploded though and the HU works othervise.

The question is where or if lts possible to buy spare parts for the HU? Does anyone have the front half of the board for sale, can it be changed without Tech-2?

Omega General Help / MV6 cooling mystery...
« on: 11 January 2015, 16:36:23 »
Searching for some ideas again.
So my '00 MV6 has developed a strange probleem. When there is over -20C outside then on the first drive in the morning temp goes up, like over 100C  :'( in ~10km trip. The rest of the day it works like a dream although outside temp is pretty much the same about -16/-22C. Coolant level is ok and the coolant is made to last about -35C. No leaks, cabin fan blows warm air.. I'm out of ideas...

So all ideas are welcome! Allthough most of you guys does not deal with that kind of outside temperatures ;)

Omega General Help / 3,0 coolant leak, HELP!
« on: 13 April 2014, 11:06:58 »
So have a fl mv6 and there is a misterious coolant leak. Have changed waterpump, now changing the coolant valve( the black thing in the back of the engine). Now discovered during the disassembling that it looks "wet" around the valvecovers back side of the engine. Any ideas?  The coolant that comes out has no oil mixed in, oil looks ok also. and the leak seems to be higher than the head casket.
