Omega General Help / Help regarding anti theft device thing
« on: 19 October 2007, 21:51:22 »
Hey guys hope you can help with this our omega has what i assume is an antitheft device i.e when you unlock the doors you have to be quick in getting the key in the ignition to start the car otherwise nothing will happen not even the lights will come on. Up until a few days ago this hasnt been a problem but the past couple of days it has been a real pain no matter how quick we are at getting the key in and turned it is taking 8-10 times to get it to turn is there a way of bypassing this or disabling it at all.
thanks
mrs b

Omega General Help / question for you regarding eml & leads.
« on: 11 September 2007, 07:19:23 »
Ok the pain in the butt was towed off to a garage yesterday as we just couldnt do anything and hubby has to be careful as he is still recovering from heart attack and surgery earlier this year nothing to strenuous etc so they took it away and then idiot who owns it rang them later in the day couldnt get no sense didnt understand a word they told him so hubby rang them they said it needed all new plugs and leads (hmmm ) so he goes outside gets 4 new plugs and leads takes them up to them lol. watches whilst they put them on as well the car is now running so we are bringing it back to the house today all it needs according to the machine is a camshaft sensor and a lambda sensor which amazingly has broke off right at the end of the wire where it goes into the cat. So we are sorting the leads out for him as hubby can fit them no probs what he wants to know is after putting the leads on should the eml light go out on its own or will it need something doing to make it go out and recognize that the faults have been sorted, Only the bloke at the garage said it would need programming we are not sure if he is just trying to scam more money or not and thought we would ask you guys. Thanks in advance. :)

Omega General Help / Now totally fed up with this bl***y car
« on: 07 September 2007, 11:35:42 »
Ok so we read the comments given last night and decided to have another go at reading the eml light this morning hubby went out as normal to start the car and give it a little drive back and for . Ohhhhh no now what the f*** has gone wrong the blooming thing would not tick over properly and would certainly not drive either way (bearing in mind this thing is parked behind out car so we need to move it to get ours out). hubby managed somehow to get it out into the cul-de-sac when it conked again so i had to push this blooming thing over to the side of the road where we have now left it. Have rung idiot and told him to come collect key and get car moved we no longer want it in our driveway it is to much headwork. Thankyou so much to all for your help much appreciated  it is now time this bloke sorted his own problem out.

« on: 06 September 2007, 19:03:09 »
ok we did this paper clip test today and the eml light was flashing so many times it was unbelievable 1,3,10,9,6,1, all over the place there was no pattern to it at all. The eml light now we have put new bulbs in for him is on permanently vauxhall suggested the air flow meter so as we had one we changed that and it made no difference he has it in hopefully for a diagnostics test somewhere on saturday. But any ideas from you guys would be appreciated.

Omega General Help / So far we have tried
« on: 03 September 2007, 19:57:33 »
changing all the ht leads , and we have checked for oil in the plug wells there is none yet still the car is holding back at around 50mph. It doesnt have the problem when it is cold but when it has warmed up then it starts with the holding back. Could it possibly be the dis pack as suggested by ronald mcb or could it be something else. We have a dis pack if necessary as we have one from the car we broke recently. Any suggestions form any of you would be welcome Or if any of you are in kent and fancy a trip over to see you are also more than welcome lol.
