Omega General Help / More on Dti fault codes
« on: 30 August 2012, 22:49:28 »
Hi all, just had the car put on diagnostics again. Seems like its going through the menu. Now showing MAF fault (ordered already). Also showing PO400 & P1590. Had them cleared but back eml back on within 2 mins. Still lack of power but hoping new MAF will cure that. If not, back to the drawing board. Any info on other 2 codes would be appreciated. Thanks. Graham.

Omega General Help / Dti fault codes
« on: 29 August 2012, 17:43:48 »
Hi there, I have a 2003 GLS dti estate that is giving me problems. The eml came on a few weeks ago and showed 2 faults on diagnostics. firstly the EGR valve which I replaced and also ' inconsistent pressure from fuel pump' which was cleared and the car was ok for a couple of days and then the light came back on intermittently puuting the car in 'limp home' mode and after a few mins would clear. However, now the car is in permanent limp home mode with the light permanently on. If the fuel pump is knackered then its not really financially viable to replace. What puzzles me though is that when in neutral, the car will rev freely right across the rev band with no hesitation so I must question whether the fuel pump is really at fault. I'm still using the car as on the flat it isn't too bad but going up hills is a struggle. Any ideas please? Thanks.

Hi, the rear electric windows have stopped working on my 2003 cdti estate. Thaey work from the front drivers door switch. I have replaced ALL the switches with known working items, checked all fuses and even my local and excellent garage haven't been able to find the problem. Is there a separate relay for them as the RAC played around with all the relays for a different problem a few weeks ago and they haven't worked since. Thanks for your help. Graham

Hello all, would anyone know the vauxhall part number for the diesel injector pump on a 2003(52 plate) omega GLS estate please and if they are different to ones on earlier W,X and Y platers?  Also do they have one or two plugs? Thanks. Graham

Omega General Help / Dti fail to start
« on: 02 November 2011, 11:38:08 »
Hi all, I have a 2003 2.2dti that is baffling me in failing to start. No fault codes showing. Got the RAC out last night and they failed to get it going but whilst being towed to the garage I tried a bump star & it fired up. it ran and started ok for the rest of the evening. This morning, same problem. Started, ran poorly for a few seconds & cut out. Won't start again. Is it a fuel or immobiliser problem? any advice welcome. Thanks.

AA say its probably crank shaft sensor as rev counter not moving while cranking. However, no problem starting once jump started. Any clues please????

My Omega has been off the road for a couple months and started it up yesterday. Ran out of fuel on short test drive. Now put fuel in & wont start. Engine management light seems to have stopped working and dont seem to be getting spark or fuel up. Is this an immobiliser issue? Any ideas please? Thanks

I have an Omega 2.5Cd that after an idiot mate borrowing it for a few months has packed up. His garage has said the ECU has had it. If I get a secondhand one, what else do I need to do on fitting it please?

Omega General Help / Oil cooler or head gaskets?
« on: 19 November 2007, 01:17:06 »
I bought an S reg 2.5 CD a few weeks ago and was told the gaskets had been recently done. There was no sign of pressure in the expansion tank but a little bit of 'mayo' in both the expansion tank and oil filler which I assumed were left over from when the gaskets went. The car drove perfectly for a couple of weeks and then the oil level dropped drastically, ending up in the water cooling system so that it looked like neat oil was cooling the system. The car still drove fine and no untoward exhaust fumes. The bottom hose burst in traffic and was recovered home but still starts fine and pulls on all 6 cylinders. Before I put it in the hands of a garage could anyone give me any pointers please. Thanks

Newbie Welcome Area / Just to say hello.
« on: 18 November 2007, 06:29:39 »
Hello to you all. I bought a V6 cd a few weeks ago and have heard only good things about the forum so thought I'd join up. I've been shafted on my car but am intent on getting it sorted as it is lovely to drive, especially after driving a diesel MPV for the last four years. I'll look through the FAQs for any help and if I can't see anything relevant, I'll come back with a question or three. Thanks.
