Omega Electrical and Audio Help / A weird one to do with lighting...
« on: 03 December 2006, 09:23:01 »
I've noticed that my facelift Omega has developed an interesting quirk whereby when the engine isn't running, pressing the indicator stalk into position will enable the side light and tail light for that side.  So if stalk is sat like / then the left hand side side light and tail light come on, and if the stalk is sat like \ then the right side lights come on.  As soon as the ignition is turned, the indicators operate as normal...

Any ideas guys?

First up, happy new year guys!

I've had to change my battery in the last few days, and now the one-shot operation of my electric windows has disappeared, anyone know how to turn it back on?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Foglight question for you guys
« on: 01 October 2006, 18:42:03 »
seeing as this should be the wealth of all knowledge regarding the Omega, hopefully you can help me and my garage solve an issue that has stumped us both.  As my car is a *cough* GLS, and so the foglights have been retrofitted, they need to be wired up.  Now the eBay seller included the wiring to connect up to the loom, but neither me nor my mechanic can see where the f**k it connects to!

Any help greatfully received (esp any with pics!)

Omega General Help / Cool Running Thermostats - Question!
« on: 05 December 2006, 13:49:07 »
Some of you may have seen this elsewhere, but trying to get as much info as possible!

I've been tempted by the cool running thermostats as sold by Courtenay et al.  I used to have a Rover K-Series, hence the fear of overheated heads!

Thing is, they all say they will cut the fan in around 10° lower than normal, but as far as I know, the X20XEV engine is thermostatically controlled to have the fans cut in at 92°.  Now my Omega tends to operate around the 85° mark during median temperatures with 22-24 on the climate.  Wouldn't this mean my fans were constantly on?  Anyone tried them and can give me real world input on this?

Some of you may know me from VxON, but I'm Andy, 25, from just outside Newcastle.

I drive a 2000 facelift 2.0 GLS, fitted with a few Irmscher bits.
