Omega General Help / False Alarms
« on: 05 August 2008, 13:47:02 »
Changed the front pads today. Replaced them with QH product. They came without pad-wear sensors. Old sensors fell (well they nearly did) out of the old pads and were secured up and away from rotating parts. 30 mins after setting the alarm off it goes!

The reason I suspect these open? circuits is that when I was recently working on the coolant bridge the car could not be locked with anything unplugged or the neighbours would start tutting loudly.

Do I need to terminate the brake sensor wires with anything? Capacitor, resistance or short?

Newbie Welcome Area / Hello and thanks!
« on: 24 July 2008, 14:57:55 »
Hello to you all. And thanks for all your help (already). Why am I here? My wife's T reg 2.5 started widdling coolant on the drive. I opened the bonnet to find a big oily metallic thing blocking the view. I closed the bonnet. That was plan A.

Searching for you, buying the fancy sockets and cursing GM's design department was Plan B.

The problem was eventually tracked to that dopey coolant cross pipe thingy (as you all probably guessed).
Irritating induction hiss turned out not to be my incompetence but broken T-piece on brake vacuum line (tracked down thanks to your vacuum diagram, my thanks again).
